If a team wins a higher seed because they win in a bad division, and end up playing a lower seed which has a better record than they do, the lower seed will have home court advantage. HCA is first determined by win-loss, not seeding.

Then what is the point of the new seeding process ? I don't get it. If record still gives a team home court then why have this seeding system. Not trying to be a smartass, I just don't fully understand it even after reading about it.

Never mind I get it. It changes the seedings but has nothing to do with homecourt. Okay, that's simple enough.
