Just watched this movie this weekend and all I can say is WOW!.
That Sean Penn is one great actor.
I cried on more than one occassion watching this movie.
And then I wake up this morning and see the story of the 3 year old boy who had to leave the parents he has known all his life and given back to his biological mother.
Damn that hurt.

Yea that is an awesome movie i remember watching it in theaters and i shed more than one tear.
Dang i didnt hear abou that story Chalupa. But they have been reporting a lot on that 11 year old boy who drownded in the san antonio river. I guess they are covering it because he is from Huntington Park.

Some of us aren't rich dentists, Jim. For 3 bucks, he can go to blockbuster or video on demand, and the whole Chalupa family can watch.

Yeah but I'd rather cry in the comfort of my own home than in movie theatre.

Sean Penn ROcks!!
This was a great movie!
I saw it when it first came out and bought it as soon as it came out on DVD.
Sean was robbed of an Oscar for this movie and for Dead Man Walking. I was happy he won it for Mystic River.
One of my favorite actors.

Yes, Sean was awesome in those two movies as well, but to me, my favorite character is Jeff Spicoli. :lol

Yes, but by the time you watch it, all your friends have told you about all the good parts of the movie. :spin

Both of those were great, but I think my favorite role he's played is still in 21 Grams - everyone in that movie was amazing.

I also saw I Am Sam for the first time recently.
Never been much of a Sean Penn fan, but he won me over with that one. Excellent movie, spectacular performance.
Dakota Fanning was incredible, too!
