Mavs fans,

What's your favorite Mavericks memory? Here's the ones I could think of that were great. I was a fan from 1992 on, so I don't know alot of the great 80's moments. But here's what I think are the greatest moments in Mavericks history.

1. Dirk's And-1: Pretty obvious. Maybe the greatest single play in Mavericks history.

2. Moody Madness: OT win at Moody Coliseum, first playoff series win in Mavs history over the Sonics.

3. Beating The Jordan Bulls: Finley outplayed Jordan, Ceballos was fucking bad ass, and the little Mavericks took down the Bulls in overtime.

4. Taking the Lakers to 7: Closest the Mavs ever got to the Finals until they got there a couple years ago.

5. Comeback to beat the Jazz: Down 0-2 in the series, the young Mavs win 3 straight. Dirk owns Malone. Calvin Booth hits a clutch shot and gets a big ass contract for it.

6. Shawn Bradley announces his retirement: A great moment for all sports fans.

And I picked beating the Jordan Bulls because I remember that game so well. I loved the Finley/Ceballos "dynamic duo" and to see them beat the Bulls was probably the happiest I've ever been as a Mavs fan. Dirk's And-1 was wonderful, but being a kid seeing them beat the Bulls was probably better.

As Emmitt Smith would say, it was a "diamond in the poopoo".

Dirk's And one should be changed to DeSagana Diop's Game 7 Overtime. I'm pretty sure that's what Mavsfan1000 was really picking.

i was at the Bulls game when Phil pulled all the starters then was forced to put them back in because mavs made a run and made it close. Cedric Ceballos then proceed to hit a 3 pointer in the corner to tie up the game to send the game to OT.

I should have put "Devin Harris Being Born" because I'm sure he thinks that's the greatest moment in Mavs history. He probably ranks that one a tick below the birth of Jesus.

Mine was Dirk dropping 50 on the Suns in the '06 WCF. I think it was Game 3, Tim Thomas hit a 3-pointer early in the 2nd half and taunted Dirk on his way back to other end of the court. After that, Dirk single-handedly destroyed the Suns. It was the most brutal beating my team has taken from a single player.

Back to topic. I remember a game against Magic and the Lakers in 1990 where the Mavs came back and won, possibly in overtime. It was just a regular season game but it was one of those memorable performances for a team that was having the first of many rotten years. I heard someone on GAC mention that game this season; it was interesting to find out that I wasn't the only one who remembered that game, though I don't remember the details.

Dirks and 1. After Manu dropped the three i felt like dead. How could we have came this far and lost like that and then after the shot and the way we dominated in overtime is my favorite memory as a mav fan....or i was courtside for a game against the raptors a couple years ago where we came back from like 20-something in the 4th quarter to win the game. that was insane.

watching the Mavs in OT pull away from the Spurs knowing we had a chance to really win a championship was crazy. i thought there was no way we could go into the champs home and win a playoff game 7 when they had so much more experience. i dont remember the Dirk and 1 all that well, cause after Manu's three i just went numb. wasnt mad, sad, happy, i just didnt feel anything until the Mavs startedpulling away.

the Jazz series was cool but i never thought we'd be able to win a championship by beating them. i dont remember any of the other choices.

For those of us that don't love Mark Cuban but actually hate the Suns and their fanbase, Dirk's and-1 is probably the best thing that could have happened that year. The Spurs weren't going to beat Phoenix with Smallball© and the Suns probably would have beat Miami, so Dirk basically came up big in the clutch and saved us all from having to listen to Princess Pimp and UVRay crowing about their title.

Funny how some Spurs fans live vicariously through the 2006 Miami Heat in order to convince themselves that their suckass team was the rightful champs that year.

suckass team? so being the defending champs = suckass? The Spurs were the 3 seed in the West, just a game behind the Mavs that year, and that = suckass?

you guys won a hard fought 7 game series. Props to your team for that, and history can never take that away from you. i wont blame the officiating.....instead i will blame the Spurs for their carelessness with the basketball late is all 3 of the close games they lost. They had the lead in every one of those games only to have stupid turnovers in the closing minutes, especially Manu. The Mavs converted, the Spurs didn't.

However, you couldn't seal the deal now could you. Up 2-0 in the Finals and a double digit lead in the 4th quarter of game 3......and you proceed to lose that game and the next 3. You choked away a Championship. Now that = suckass. Then you won 67 games and became the first 1 seed to lose to an 8 seed in a 7 game series.....that = suckass. You followed that up with a crappy trade this past season....that = suckass.....and you once again got clowned in the 1st round....that = suckass.

BTW.....some of my favorite memories of the Mavs

Tarpley being kicked out cause of drug abuse...what a waste of a career...he was the dexter manley of basketball

Aguirre/Dantley trade....while I was upset that Dantley was traded....Aguirre helped the Pistons and Isiah win 2 NBA titles.

beating the Mavs in 2003 WCF

the introduction of the green jerseys....while I dont like your team, these jerseys are awesome....and they are the same colors as my college alma mater

Cutting Finley so he could sign with the Spurs

Choking in the Finals against the Heat

Being completely embarrassed by the Warriors in the 1st round

The Jason Kidd trade

Losing in the 1st round for the second consecutive year

Josh Howard admitting to being a midnight toker....I was so pissed when we passed on him in the draft.....finding out he was pothead definitely made me feel better
