i tried yesterday to figure out all the scenarios, but it's so wack this year i gave up and am just gonna watch the games tonite and see how it plays out.

I weeded out the least-likely scenarios and here's what we're left with.

1) Spurs get 3rd seed with HCA and play Suns in round 1.
2) Spurs get 6th seed and play the Jazz (with the Jazz having HCA)

Best scenario:

Spurs 3 seed, Lakers 1 seed, New Orleans 2 seed and Utah 4 seed.

Spurs can beat Phoenix in rd 1 because say what you will, SA has mental edge over Phoenix., If New Orleans gets by Dallas, SA gets the weakest semi finalist of the remaining 4 teams. They will most likely get Lakers in WCFs, unless Utah can steal just one road game at LA, and that would be ideal situation for Spurs. This would set up a rematch of last year's WCFs and I like SA's chances there.


Now if SA can just get healthy tonight and secure the 3 seed....otherwise, I do not like SA's chances at all this year..

The Spurs could finish in the 3, 4, 5, or 6 spot, and could play the Suns, Rockets, or Jazz in the first round. Other than that they know exactly where they will end up. :)

If the Spurs beat Utah, they will get the #3 seed, and will open at home against probably the Suns -- unless Phoenix wins and Houston loses, in which case it'd be the Rockets.

If the Spurs lose to Utah, there are three different possible outcomes depending on how Houston and Phoenix do. If they both win, the Spurs open on the road against the Jazz from the #6 spot. If the Suns lose, the Spurs get the Rockets at home from the #4 spot. If the Suns win and the Rockets lose, the Spurs get the Suns on the road from the #5 spot.
