Nah the Lakers have a very easy road to WCF

Hands down, the Lakers have a cakewalk to the WCF with the home court and no meeting with Mavs/Spurs/Suns.

Other teams will do the dirty work for the Lakers while they get Andrew Bynum and Ariza worked back in to be ready for the WCF.

That said, the Spurs/Suns matchup is friggin' awesome and by far the best series of the first round.

+1

Though I wish we could play them.... only for the reason of continuity... I mean, when we beat denver in the first round, it seems like we get a 'ship. :lol

Im probably wrong but ohh well. :p:

another epic battle where Shaq humiliates TD and another year the defending champion gets eliminated in the first round, against the new champion no less ;)

Nope, actually Denver is very overrated like many of the players on its squad. The Nuggetts aren't a serious threat to any of the other 7 teams.

Yup...there's a reason why they are the #8 seed...

I think the Lakers are overated and the nuggets underated by ST.
The spurs never had an easy game against denver. The spurs won because of their saavy play and experience. The lakers have only Kobe and Fisher to count on.
The lakers in 7 though. But far from a cakewalk.

If the playoffs were all one-game series DEN might be a threat. But over the course of 7 games do you honestly believe DEN will be able to sustain the mental concentration needed to win 4 games?

Allanon

Nuggets are a step below the West top 7. They're dangerous but dangerous only gets you maybe 2 games out of 7.

Lakers can score as well as the Nuggets but Lakers defense, although not great, is still 10x better than Nugget Defense.

Lakers have won the season series by an average of 15 points...that's a woodshed beating. Add in a dash of DUI distractions and it should be like the Celtics vs Hawks in the first round.

Second Round most likely the Jazz or possibly the Rockets.

Lakers have a pre-punched ticket to the WCF.

I think Lakers win the series, but it takes 7 games.

Carmello Anthony has no defenders, neither does Iverson.

They both are gonna go apeshit.

Lakers in 5. Lakers will struggle in Denver but win 1 out of the 2 and then close it out at home. Phil Jackson is going to bitch slap George Karl.

LOL a 7-game series??? The only 7 game series in the 1st round will be between the Spurs and Suns.

When Iverson and Mello combine for 70, don't come crying to us.

AI and Melo have to combine for 100 to beat the Lakers.

Iverson and Carmelo will each score 30. But it won't matter because they'll be giving up 120. I'll say the Nuggets steal one at home and Lakers in 5.

Melo and AI will do that but Denver will lose 4 games by 15 points each

Not really.

You've got KMart going for 15, Camby for 15, JR Smith for 15 to 20. Kleiza for 8, Nene for a few.

Nuggets are loaded up, and the lakers aren't the best of defensive teams.

Granted neither are the Nuggets, but the Nuggets can outshoot you.

Who knows what's going to happen in the playoffs.....
Denver is talented but from what I see they play no D. Carmello will probably try to choke Sasha again and will get ejected. Lakers in 6...I give Iverson respect.

Ah, sorry, I said 100 but I was exagerating but you know what I mean.

AI/Melo already combined for 77 points and still lost to the Lakers. I figure it's going to take 85-90 points by them combined for them to win.

And the Lakers think the Jazz will be a cakewalk?

They play physical basketball. Even if the Lakers do get past them, you don't think they'll be a little worn out?

I'm not saying the Spurs have their hands full, they do. However, the Lakers don't have a path paved in Gold. I think the Jazz match up very well with them and are incredibly difficult to beat at home. If the Jazz pull one of the first two out then I'd pick them as favorites to win the series against LA.

Again, this is all speculative, let's see how the 1st round turns out.

Allanon

Remintonbo, I don't discount the Jazz against other teams at all but there are a few things we will always know:

1) Jazz will always beat the Hornets
2) Lakers will always beat the Jazz

Both matchups are always taken "personal"

The Nugs seem to be very streaky, and i don't think they match up well with LA, o how i wish Dallas would have dropped to that 8th seed!!!

Mavs were pussies for not going after Lakers in 1st without Bynum.

Way to go losers.

i cant wait for Lakers-Nuggets. Those 3 games were so long ago and neither team was the same as it is now

The Lakers have Pau now but no Bynum
The Nuggets have a healthier Kmart and still no Nene
Melo got injured early in the 3rd game
JR Smith was in the doghouse for the games but now is playing a starring role

Lakers will still win but dont underestimate the Nuggets.

The Lakers are just as bad on D as the Nuggets it seems :lol The Lakers are a team and the Nuggets are a bunch of inidividuals, thats what makes the Lakers so much better. Plus they have a good coach and the Nuggets don't lol
