Even Steiny Mo has hopped off the Spurs wagon. Can't say I blame him or the the others, after all, they are national sports writers who have no spoken allegiance to any team, and the way the Spurs have looked lately, barring their last two games, has been a sight for sore eyes.

Still, I think the Spurs can win the series and believe they'll find a way to get it done.

It's commonplace in sports to RESPECT last yrs champs. But given all the known circumstances surrounding us and the Spurs...they don't deserve one ounce of respect. I don't respect them as a team nor as an organization. They are a bunch of thugs, whiners and actors (floppers).

I actually could see us taking this series in 5 games. On paper, we are the better team. Now we just have to go out and play as such. Shaq's made a lot of comments since coming over, but one thing he said is ABSOLUTE...a team has to BELIEVE they are the better team. That's what makes a championship team. You can bet your bottom dollar Shaq has already reminded the crew of this. This is where Shaq's 4 rings and experience comes to the forefront.

A team not only has to have the personnel with enough talent to win a championship, they have to have the right mindset to accomplish that task. It's now time to soak up Shaq's words of wisdom when it comes to his championship expereince. The words "think I can", must now be dropped from our team's vocabulary. Time for excuses to be over. We have the talent, and the experience, so it's now time to BELIEVE we can bring home the title.

Bottom line, we go into this dance with the right midset, and play to our abilities, it won't matter who we play to get there, and that's as it should be...and HAS to be.

I'm not coming in here to troll, but I have to honestly say that I agree with either Suns in 6 or 7. Shaq has gotten the better of Timmy in the past 2 Suns/Spurs matchups, holding Tim to like 2 points in the 4th quarter in the last meeting. The Shaq Amare combo also seems to be clogging the lane making it harder on Parker and Manu. But in all honesty I hate the Suns and even though their is a rivalry between my Mavs and the Spurs, i've still gotta pull for the Spurs this series.

I mean, I was a little surprised that it was so overwhelmingly in the Suns favor, despite SA having homecourt (though SA has yet to beat PHX at home this season), but you have to give the edge to PHX going into this series, especially with the way the Spurs have been playing lately, and the fact that Shaq can guard TD which changes everything about this matchup.

A lot of these so called "ESPN Experts" and "NBA Analysts" like to pick the popular choice. Of course they're rooting for a potential conference finals matchup between Shaq and the Kobe Lakers.

They also think Pheonix plays a more exciting brand of basketball with all the dunks and nifty Nash passes, etc. It's a lot more enjoyable for them and the average fan to watch than fundamental Spurs basketball with scores in the low 80's.

The Spurs didn't really even beat anybody impressive last year. Cavs were a joke a finals matchup and it took Donaghy and Stern's stupid rule in order for them to get past the Suns. The Mavs would of sent the Sporks packing, just like in 06.

how can the spurs be held responsible for who they had to play on their way to their 4th title? that doesn't make sense. if they have no control over their opponents, it doesn't diminish the :lobt2:

also, the NBA has investigated the whole Donaghy scandal...and nothing has ever been produced indicating that the Spurs benefited from that idiot. I've never understood "ohhh let's rig it for the Spurs" conspiracy theories. Yeah i'm sure David Stern is rubbing his hands together at the thought of a big cash cow like SAN ANTONIO winning another title. That does shit for him.

Mavs didn't deserve the chance to play in the 2nd round. They changed their strategy for an inferior 8th seed, who in turn made them the worst bitches in NBA history historically speaking. 07 Mavs = FAIL. Excuses are for losers.
