True, he was smart enough not to allow the Suns to have a chance to get shot blockers back on the floor.

That shot Ginobili hit was a shot he has missed a lot in his playoff life. Game 7 against Dallas. Game 5 against Detroit. But Ginobili is now a monster in the clutch situations and doesn't rush anything.

In that sense, the Spurs are even more dangerous than last year. Ginobili has been f'ing nails at the end of games throughout the season. He has already made more clutch shots in this year's playoffs than the whole 2007 playoff run combined (going by the most common basketball definition of clutch).

The Spurs got an assassin on their side this year :smokin

Absolutely.

Great call by Popovich.

The rest is just Manu Ginobili.

True, he was laboring at some points and made some mistakes.

But wins are wins and he competed hard and came thru in the clutch.

Other than his 3 point shot misses, all SIX of them, it was a great game. Does his long jumper look REALLY flat to anyone else? I didn't think any of those three pointers had a ghost of a chance.

Definitely an assassin this year.
It was awesome watching the clock winding down, knowing he was going to deliver it.

One more time.

WORST game ever (0-8 0 points) of Manu was G3 in Cleveland.

He scored 3 points, all FTs.

All in the final minute.

The last three points of his team.

Spurs win by 3.

This guy is a killer from another planet.

I don't like to point to injuries but
He probably doesn't have his legs back since the groin thing. He never shot a three in the Utah Jazz game.
If he can just get that going, it'll make a big difference. There were a lot of threes he normally makes that would have shifted the momentum a lot sooner for us.

Without the 3rd OT, Manu was sucking wind.

But then again, under pressure is when the dude thrieves . . .

Yeah, it's obvious to me that he's still injured.

The Spurs training stuff is going to need to come up clutch. :lol

As whottt posted in another thread, Manu is obviously injured right now. He's not getting his usual elevation and his top-end speed isn't as fast. But he's being a warrior right now and hopefully it will heal itself before he re-injures it further.

If his injury gets worst, the Spurs are toast. If he can get back to 100%, the Spurs will be a tough out.

If I had to compare Ginobili's shot to any of his shots in his life, it'd be that Olympic game winner.

True. Different sides, but it was also an awkward angle and he was falling away. Man, manu shot that gamewinner so fast I didn't have time to process that he'd won them the game. :lol

Got to give Manu some props. But this is definitely Timmy's game!

But I did notice that Manu hit a lot of clutch plays in the second overtime...I think there were like two or three clutch lay ups before the winning play.

And Pop was smart to just let the Spurs play on without calling a timeout.

Timmy also said that his three wasn't by design...that Manu was going in, and Nash/Shaq were all over him...so Timmy was open. Hence, Manu got him the ball. His assists are also so timely!

GINOBILI!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you guys should lighten up, really. I mean, you got the W!

Yes you would have lost if not for clutch shots by Finley and Duncan and Manu but it's a team game and it's all irrelevant cuz the game is over and you won. That's a concern for the next few games.

It should be a positive that you survived a rather subpar Manu game and still won.

I was so angry with Manu but i don't think he's injured. He'll be ok.

Looking at the replay of that last shot... Jordan-esque clutch!

Manu == Jordan in clutch situations. I dare say he could even be better, if you look at his consistency...

The Spurs are truly blessed to have him!

I can't bealive that... what the fuck was he doing in the 3pt line then and how did Manu get him the ball without looking at him?

I don't know what was more impressive. His clutch layups at the end or the fact that the had the guts to pass the ball to Tim Frickin Duncan on the 3 point line. :lol

It might have been one of the options? But all of them were going for the three point shot.

I thought itwas a great play by Popovich, he didnt' settle for the free throw game with twelve seconds left.

Honestly, right now some of the fans are thinking that it was a strategy by Pop to get Timmy for the 3...

But Tim said that he hasn't made a three during this whole season...would Pop design a play like that if he hasn't made a 3 pointer?

I have no idea! Timmy says that it was NOT by design, but I don't think he'd tell otherwise...Plus, Pop is known to go to different people, like the Finley 3 pointer is common lately...
