View Full Version : The saddest part for the Mavs

yeah, I just looked at Game 7 where Duncan alone outshot the whole Mavs team from the free throw line. No, there was no foul on Dirk at the end of Game 4 (when he tweaked his ankle). I will admit that, but the series was not decided by that. Damp and Diop were in constant foul trouble.

I changed it after a wide open Kidd 3 that hit nothing but backboard...

If you watched the game, you know which one I'm talking about-I mean the dude does it all the time, but it's like knowing you can't fight...you probably shouldn't do it much because it's going to end badly. Why does he keep shooting?

What I want to know is....how did a wide open 3 by Kidd hit nothing but backboard when he went 2-2 from 3?

I saw that shot, so either they counted it as a 2 attempt or a pass since it didn't draw iron.

He hit a long two and a three earlier, so it wasn't a bad shot other than the fact that he just got gutless like the rest of the team and bricked it. I remember thinking that he was going to hit it because of all his playoff experience.

You didn't even watch the game because it was David West that did that.

I like how David West is "hard" because he tapped Dirk's face and felt the need to try and start something, but Dirk is "soft" because he didn't want to get a technical or do anything retaliatory that might hurt his team and result in a suspension. It would've been great for Dirk to shove or punch him in response so we wouldn't have him available for G2.

You're nothing but a fucking puddle of queef juice.

I meant winning the game. I can't stand the Suns, so trust me, I'm on your side for the next 3-6 games, but I thought the Spurs looked a little shaky yesterday. You can't count on Tim Duncan hitting 3-pointers.

As for the Mavs, my gut feeling coming into the series was Hornets in 7. After last night, I wouldn't be surprised if we go home in 5 games. Everybody associated with our team except for Dirk, Kidd, Bass and Antoine Wright is a fucking pile of garbage.

You must be 19 years old or something. Your takes are just about the dumbest things I've ever read on this board.

Magic is the guy who said that Dirk should've punched a Warrior earlier this season to retaliate for losing in the playoffs last year. Punching a random Warrior because they beat your team in the playoffs. It doesn't get any softer or pussier than that. What would that punch have earned him? A lengthy suspension and a trip to the lottery given how tight the West is. Magic doesn't seem to realize that there are consequences to being dirty, he played in an era when Bill Laimbeer maimed guys for daring to try to score. I absolutely do not care what Magic thinks. And no, Barkley definitely does not agree with you, he agrees with me. Did you listen to what he actually said? He said Dirk should retaliate within the parameters of the rules, like delivering a hard foul.

In doing what you say, is Dirk "keeping it real"? No, it's being stupid. Smart basketball players "retaliate" on the court. A push here, a jab there. You don't blatantly do it in front of the ref, which is what you're advocating. West should receive a fine. And if another incident occurs, he'll probably be suspended. Tell me again what prompted West's ire? That's right, an ELBOW from Dirk. Crafty. Who looked like the idiot? West.

But, you and all of your youthful wisdom, see it as Dirk being punked. Stupid.

And I wasn't pointing it out to rub it in to Mavs fans. I really am rooting for the Mavs in this series and thought this was the year that they could play with no pressure and have a chance to dominate, so I don't have to tell you how frustrating it is. I also think it was great of Dirk to keep his cool in that exchange. What's not great is that his balls seemed to retract and he never made anybody pay after that. That's very un-Dirk like in my opinion. The Hornets came back and really started playing inspired basketball, but it was compounded by the Mavs' completely folding at the same time.

The NO/Dallas winner is going to beat the San Antonio/Phoenix winner, because the Suns and Spurs are going to beat the holy hell out of each other for 7 games. I'd seriously worry about your team if you need to rely on Tim Duncan miracle three-pointers to win.
