Can't beat free.

Actually, tickets were $10 with some going for up to $100 on the scalper market.

it proves nothing other than the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do in Nebraska

Ya know, that argument is getting pretty friggin' tired. Why does that matter? The fact of the matter is, any Texas team would love to have the level of passion from their fans that Nebraska gets. (And that's coming straight from an A&M message board).

Besides, Penn State attracted over 70k to their spring game. Does that mean there's nothing to do in Pennsylvania, between ya know, the Phillies, Pirates, 76ers, Flyers, Penguins, Steelers, and Eagles?

Obviously you have never been to State College,Pa. There is more to do in Nebraska than there is to do in that town and anywhere within 100 miles of it. It's all farms. I'm an Ohio State fan so I don't really care about Texas teams, but making an observation that places that have nothing to do always draw a ton for spring games.. i.e. Nebraska and Alabama

Omaha is a decent place. Lincoln is a typical college town.

Damn!!! My uncle and his family are planning for a game right now in Lincoln, where he is from. VT is my suggestion. But he is stupid so who knows.

I'm not knocking either, just saying there isn't much to do there

if fans want to come out and support their spring football, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

but outside of seeing the raw athletic ability, anybody who reads anything into spring football is really putting the cart before the horse. all they are seeing is a slightly more organized practice that simply reflects a couple of other weeks worth of practices.

not to mention that any player that does well is doing so against a player - who is also on your team - who is not doing so well.

This is why I didn't mention anything other than the final score in this thread...

The main reason I made the post about KSU's game is just because it was an extremely bad spring game, when spring games by their very nature aren't supposed to be that bad.

what makes a defensive stalemate any worse/better than any other type of spring game?

believe it or not, Freeman was actually worse in last year's game while getting a lot more than just 6 snaps and having Jordy Nelson to toss to. and then he went on to set a number of school passing records last year.

think about how meaningless preseason NFL football is - Spring games are about 100 times less meaningful than that.

Did not Ohio State have a similar turnout at their spring game?
