Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks

The Celtics have been the best team all year in regards to consistency. I have always said individual defensive accolades are overrated. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen just proved my theory, because they have become defensive stalwarts in the tight team defense of the Celtics. It will be hard for the Hawks to win this series just based on the rapid fire offense of the Big Three. Plus Kevin Garnett is on a mission. But Celtics beware if you think this is a cakewalk.

The Hawks match up with you quite nicely with the likes of Joe Johnson, Al Horford and Josh Smith. I did not even mention one of the best clutch playoff performers in Mike Bibby. The Hawks have the firepower to win two games in this series and they will.

Projection: Celtics in six.

Let's go Hawks! They stand a chance, after all it's not like #8 has never beaten #1 before :lol I think the key will be smoove, Bibs and Jj have PO experience and even Al has the NCaa championship game. Josh is lacking in "big game" experience and he may come out like a deer in headlights.

Sure, he's an asshole, but he was an allstar before Jesus and KG. In 05-06 he was a fucking beast. Like 26, 7 boards and 5 assts a game on good FG% Those are pretty much as good of numbers as you'll see in this league. Not quite as good as Lebron that year, but damn close.

I just can't believe how much better the Hawks should be. I mean could Salim and Marvin have developed any less. Well, Marvin's done okay, but he should be further along. And it seems to me that Salim Stoudamire could be a guy who could've learned to actually, y'know, dribble the ball. Too bad the Hawks haven't challeneged him at all.

Their defense is inconsistent for a team with what I think are decent defenders and they lose close games like none other. Last year it was a problem that I hoped they'd haved solved by now. Nope. I just wonder what Mike Woodson does in his spare time, but it sure as fuck doesn't involve drawing up plays for crunch time. I hate to see any sports team fire a black man, but fuck, this shit's gotten entirely indefensible.

I'm not a big Larry Brown fan, but I have to admit, he'd be perfect for this team. If anybody can light a fire on defense while creating chemistry it's Larry Brown. I just hope their fucked up owners get their heads straight this summer. The talent is there for this to be not only a better team, but a much better team.
