Yes it seems Detroit is having one of those games were they are going thru the motions.

the pistons will not win the east. the celtics have it on lockdown.

Celtics have a lockdown on it unless they meet the Wizards...I'll bet KG & Crew are rooting for the Cavs big time right now.

Despite what happen in the regular season the Wizards are not beating the Celts in the playoffs.

in a 7 game series boston will destroy the wizards....playoffs are a different game.

If even if the Pistons win this game the 76ers have put a scare into them.

Detroit is the best example of why coaching matters and just what a difference the right coach makes.

Flip just can't keep his teams together, this reminds me of so many of his Timberwolves teams... If Detroit can't get out of the first round it is past time to move on. Jeff Van Gundy has had some good years as a coach. He's not the best but he has been capable of getting the most of out players, and he's a damn site better than Flip.

+1 It's always fun to watch the underdog try and pull of the upset.

76er's up by 2. Should be up by 4 but missed some freethrows.

Iggy missed a FT.

It's crazy, I look at the Sixers lineup and I can't think of a single guy I'd like having shooting these end of game foul shots :D

Probably has to be the worst free throw lineup I've ever seen.

I just can't imagine a team with Billups, Antonio McD, Prince, and Sheed being soft. But they can't be described as anything but soft under Flip. This is ridiculous when you remember how good they were in the finals against the Lakers and the Spurs just a few years ago, and it's almost the same damn team.

The Flip Saunders effect in full.

Wow, upset completed in Game 1.

Sixers were the worst team the Pistons could have drawn in the first round.

congrats Philly, Maurice is super happy.

Come on, Pistons, what's up with that?

First upset of the 08 playoffs.

ludda
04-20-2008, 07:47 PM
First of all, Chauncey missed key shots.
Prince had an open look.
Rasheed's shot wasn't a "bad" shot.
The players couldn't execute down the stretch.

It's one game. I'd still expect the Pistons to close this series out in 6.

What a pathetic loss. I like the Pistons, and that was just gross... The 76rs had no right to even be in that game.

I'm not saying the Wizards are for sure going to win like in the regular season. I mean they have a 30-40% chance to win. Whereas every other 3+ seed has about a 5% chance of beating the Celtics.

Dalembert no-showed, but Reggie had a great game.

It seemed as if there was way too much respect between the two teams ON the court. There was a bunch of laughing and joking around, especially with Evans and Sheed. It's nice to see, but it could affect how serious they take game.

Big win for Philadelphia tonight, but it's hard to buy into them winning this series. They don't shoot free throws well enough and they don't play in the halfcourt well enough. This is just a typical dogging-it performance for the Flip Saunders-era Pistons. They'll get it together enough to take this series but their play-when-they-wanna shtick will catch up to them, just as it has the last two seasons.

Wow I'm shocked. Knew Philly was good, but to beat Detroit in Detroit game 1. Wow. If Detroit is serious about winning a ring this year, they can't be losing games like this.

The pistons (players and coaches) took this game waaay too lightly. The sixers made a run in the 4th and flip kept Billups, Wallace and Hamilton on the bench. All those players were shown smiling and having a good time on the bench.
They never panicked for sure but there was no urgency whatsoever.
This will wake them up and they will win game two by 40pts.
It reminded me of the game 1 the spurs had against denver two seasons ago.

Yep. Reminds me of 05 and 07, both game 1s against Denver, both games the Spurs felt comfortable as hell. Those Denver teams were much better than this 76ers team, so I figure Detroit could easily get over this.

Damn I'd love to see a video of this.

This Sixers team is amazing, somehow finding a way to win I mean Reggie freaking Evans? He wouldn't get playing time in any team in the West but he was massive tonight. :toast

You have to still think the Pistons will win the series but it is definitely going to get a lot more interesting now.

I called Pistons in 6, and I'm sticking with that call. The 76ers are very underrated, and can beat any team on any given night. This win didn't surprise me that much, but I really doubt they'll win again in Detroit. They'll take another at home, and Detroit will win the last two.

Detroit can't afford to let the sixers extend them to 6 or 7 games. In the 2nd round they draw the Magic or Raptors. In 06 they were up 2-0 on Cavs. They end up going 7 games with them and then losing to Miami in ECF.

I find interesting that Flip after the game said "this is the time we have to stick together". This is a team that has made it to the Conference Finals the past 5 years it does not bode well for them if thier coach is saying that after 1 loss.

I'm shocked that the Pistons blew this one. But they still have what it takes to win this series in 5 or 6 if they get their shit together. No more clowning around, guys, it's the playoffs. Do you really wanna get upset and embarrassed AGAIN?
