Do you have a door that's jammed up and doesn't close the way it used to? Are there cracks in the walls? That may be a sign of problems with your foundation, and trust me, it's not going to get better, it's only going to get worse. That's why you need to place a call to the good folks at All Pro Foundation Repair. Tony and the boys will come out to your house, they'll figure out what's going on, and they'll fix it right the first time. That's All Pro Foundation Repair...

You're exactly right. It's one of those things that worked out well for Phoenix, Nash and the Mavericks. If he stayed in Dallas, he would've continued to play the two-man game with Dirk and the other jumpshooters. The Mavericks were not going to continue to roll with a nucleus of Dirk, Nash, Fin and the Mormon. Phoenix is such a better fit for his skillset when he's feeding Amare and Marion for layups and dunks on the break.

Oh, and one more thing: Antawn Jamison requested a trade because he didn't want to come off the bench anymore. The Mavericks got their 6th man replacement in Stackhouse, they opened up the small forward spot for Josh Howard, who can play D while Jamison can't...and they received the draft rights to Devin Harris. You can criticize the Mavs for fulfilling Jamison's request, or you can criticize them for giving up on a decent, young player that was inconsistent and injury-prone, but you can't do both.

You're making that shit up, fuckwad. The Lakers were NEVER going to trade Kobe until this summer if he was still unhappy, since he can opt out of his contract next summer. Kobe's leverage would be at a max right now if he were still unhappy. Their plan was to ride it out and once the Lakers got off to a good start and the Grizzlies gifted them Gasol, Kobe's concerns were mollified.

Cuban would be pretty fucking stupid to come out and say that he would trade Dirk for Kobe if given the chance. You don't throw your franchise player under the bus like that. We all know the reality is that if it were on the table, you tip your cap to Dirk and thank him for his 10 years of service and do the deal, but you don't publicly discuss trading your players like that. Here's the other angle that TFag and Luther misses: Kobe made it known that he wanted to go to Chicago, Phoenix or Dallas. He has a no-trade clause in his contract, and he also made it clear he wasn't coming here to play with Jason Terry and Josh Howard. If he was coming here at all, it was to play WITH Dirk.
Even IF Cuban signed off on that trade, Kobe would've vetoed it. Mavs don't deserve a single iota of criticism for failing to make this happen:

No he wasn't. :lol Kobe is not a stupid guy he knows how contracts work and if he wanted to be traded to Dallas he would know the only way to make that happen would be to go to Dallas for a swap with Dirk, and most likely he would have no problem signing off on the deal. At the beginning of last season Kobe felt he had no talent around him while he watched Dallas go deep in the playoffs, he probably felt he's a lot better of a player than Dirk is and could take them further. Kobe wanted to play with a legit star man, that is why he refused to go to Dallas if Dirk was traded, or to Chicago if Deng was traded. He had seen it all when it comes to carrying a team as a lone star.
Plus, honestly, how much better would the Mavs be with Kobe. It's not like he has proven he can carry a team by himself to a championship either. Stat wise Dirk has him beat the last 2-3 years. Go ask Hollinger if you don't believe me. The Mavs have a true franchise player in Dirk, they know that. A one of a kind. They need to surround him with the right talent AND the right coach.

Exactly! And not an all star either, just someone that doesn fumble the ball anytime that Dirk or Kidd passes it to him.

Stop trying to make excuses to cover up Cuban's stupidity.....he flat out turned down dealing Dirk for the best player in the game.
You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Stop making excuses for your own ignorance.

bullshit, T-Mac is a total fucking loser, Nowitzki has an MVP numerous playoff series victories, and a WC Championship to prove he's leaps and bounds ahead of T-Mac in work ethic, want-to, and leadership.
T-Mac is a pile of shit.
Give Tmac Dirks' team against Miami and you would have a championship.:king

Don't think so. Mavs would've lost to the Grizzlies in the first round that year.

Maybe they win that series, but no way does TMac make the Spurs go against everything they have stood for and actually try to play smallball to catch up with the Mavs.
