I had Kaman pcked as my MIP after summer league play. Then he got hurt and got off to a slow start. The guy stays healthy and he'll be one of the top four - five centers in the league eventually.

T Park

He couldn't get anything done against Nesterovic,

Rasho played exceptional defense on him.

He may have made 2 or 3 shots total on Rasho the whole time Rasho was in there against him.

Duncan Massenburg and Rose looked clueless against the pale ale.

T Park

Hes got great potential, he hustles, moves pretty quick, and has a nice shooting touch and bangs pretty well.

he does look like he plays out of control at times.

Still, would like to see the numbers head to head with Rasho in the game tonight.

Had the refs allowed Rasho to play about 32 33 minutes tonight, Kaman more than likely wouldve finished with probobly 12 or 10 points instead of 21.

That was probably do to the fact that Rasho was in foul trouble most of the night and didn't play as much. I'm not saying he played bad or anything so put down the gun.

I would trade Rasho for Kaman, if he showed improved work on the defensive end.

Rasho's D on Kaman in the 4th tonight was great work.

It will go unseen in the boxscore, but it helped win the game.

Dude, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT associate quotes to me that I never stated. I never have stated "defense is no big deal" or even "Rasho's defense was no big deal". I have called out Rasho's defense in certain games yes. I have called his O in certain games yes.

Rasho played better later on in the game. He got into early foul trouble which hampered him defensively. At least one of the calls was bogus. Rasho did make Kaman miss a lot, but he also fouled Kaman twice and Brand twice. While Rasho was active the Spurs still need more from him than 2 points and 5 rebounds. I hope Rasho can bring some more play like he had in the Wiz game this Friday.

T Park

more from him than 2 points and 5 rebounds

Once again, you want more points, talk to pop, he controls the offense.

He had at least 10 rebounds tonight.

For some reason controlling the ball with one hand and knocking it out to the perimter doesnt count.

The Thompson brothers pointed this out tonight.

Rasho was one of the reasons the team won tonight.

He fouled Kaman twice??

He was what 3-4 free throws??

Once again, Rasho had a good game tonight.

All of this stuff he did, tonight will go unnoticed and wont fill up the statline.

Rasho played fine tonight.

Hopefully he gets more than 3 shots friday night. He can put 10 points on the Suns easily.

Kaman was 5-8 from the line. Rasho did not have 10 rebounds. I will give him 5 boards and those two key tip outs he had. I said in the other post he played better in the second half and that's what I mean by that statement.
Remember even with the two tips that's only 2 points 7 rebounds. I don't like the way Rasho is handling the ball recently. He lost it on a few occasions and it makes me want to cover my eyes when I see him get it sometimes. I hope he can keep improving though. We need him to play well.

T Park

Rasho did not have 10 rebounds.

Watch the game and recount the amount of times he tipped it out to an open Spur for another offensive set.

He did it 3 times on the one set in the 4th quarter.

Did it alot more on other occassions.

I heard on a local radio station here in LA that Kaman works out in the offseason with Chris Webber because Kaman went to school with Webber's younger brother.

His defense is improving. The offensive game was already there. I think Kaman will make the Clippers a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

You and I have been the key debaters in this thread about Rasho's defense. It was the same case in the other thread about Yao. The shot chart for the Houston game proved you wrong there. I never said Rasho didn't play good D against the Clippers. So either you're talking to me or you're "grumble posting". :lol

ChumpDumper

Again to be fair, he was coming off an injury. His injury history is the only real knock on him. He can be a real force if he stays healthy.

picnroll
01-20-2005, 12:17 PM
Liike ChumperDumper says this guy can be a player if he stays healthy. He has all the tools. Deceptively athletic, quick, agile. very long, can be/is a good shot blocker/rebounder, can put the ball on the floor, has a solid mid-range shot and good moves and shots around the basket, good hands, can run the floor, tenacious and intelligent. I have nothing against Rasho and like parts of his game but put TD and a developing Kaman together and you have a hell of a post. I'd trade Rasho for Kaman in a heartbeat.

T Park
01-20-2005, 01:04 PM
as would I picnroll.

His defense though is not as good as Rasho's right now.

If you could say that Kaman's D could be equal to Rasho's then I would do the deal in a heartbeat.

Also, Kaman's injury proness is a little desheartening.

Isn't Scola a Kaman-type player? RBs, mix it up, hustle, inside scoring, without being too elegant and athletic about it?

T Park
01-20-2005, 01:54 PM
not as tall.

But, supposedly yes.

Well see next year how Luis is.

If he plays identical to Kaman, than Nesterovic and Rose are both expendable, or Rose is.

If Scola could match what Kaman gives, Nesterovic off the bench.

This Spurs team gets so much better, its unreal.

picnroll
01-20-2005, 02:02 PM
Nowhere near the defender or rebounder. Not a 5 like Kaman. Better passer but if Scola succeeds and to the extent he succeeds it will be on largely on hustle and cleverness as an undersized, somehwat unathletic PF.

I tend to base my opinions on what I see, and not the numbers; although I pimp numbers when they are huge (like the 18-15 Kaman had prior to his 21-14 against the Spurs).

Kaman is a good 7'0" basketball player, and within the next year or two I think he will become VERY good at his position.

Do you disagree?

manustarting2gd
01-20-2005, 11:40 PM
Guru, I dont disagree necessarily, but I don't think that we should trade multiple players for him like someone stated earlier in here. The kid is young and has only room to grow and has been playing great here of late. No one can tell the future but I can tell that he is inconsistent and its those "special" players who overcome that flaw to become "very good" at their position. Now if you could deal Rasho for Kaman straight up? Definitely. Considering his age and skill level for being 7 foot? Of course. Who wouldn't? Nothing more though. One for one , straight up.
