Manu, beat to a pulp, but stil driving to get fouled, 4/4 FTs.

Manu driving to draw the defense and then kick out to Tony for winner.

Manu sealing the victory with final defensive RB in heavy traffic when Clips had been beating the shit out of us on the boards all night. Spurs -10 in RBs.

Absolutely true. Without his crunch time points we most certainly lose this game.

He took it hard to the hoop when the Spurs really needed it. Manu was 7-7 from the line tonight. In fact, the Spurs were 16-18 on their FTs tonight. That turned out big because they couldn't hit an outside shot to save their lives (2-15 on threes).

No THJ, he needs to be packaged with Rasho and traded for Kaman!

He is nothing but manure . . .

According to that he fouled out. OK take away Manu's 2 free throws and we lose the game.

Now what did Manu do?

:lol
Well he scored 4 of the final 6 points for the Spurs and the 2 points he didn't score, he drove in and drew 3 guys to him before kicking it to TP for game winner, plus got the rebound to seal the game.

Now what did Manu do?
The first foul in your list had no incidence in the game.

The next two red lines with respect to Manu are free throughs made, four of them actually (good thing).

The foul with 19 seconds to go was dumb, I'll give you that one.

He then opened the court for TP's clutch shot.

Last red line, key defensive rebound (good thing).

Are you playing dumb or are you plain dumb?

Manu's foul away form the was totally stupid, when the rule was absolutely don't foul.

Rasho's foul trying to go for steal of the low-block entry pass over kaman's back was also extremely stupid, but I give him credit for the thought and energy.

Two mental mistakes in crunch time that risked the game.

Ginobili's foul, wasnt even a foul, at the most it was a double foul.

Rasho's was a foul, but he was trying to get the steal, wich at that time was dumb, but, he was bustin his ass on Kaman.

It was a good risk, at that time, Kaman was only 50% I believe from the line, so he thought at worst its 1 point.

On Manu's foul, he was trying to keep Simmons behind him coming off the baseline screen and he had good, strong position. Simmons grabbed Manu and faked getting fouled, acting like his arm was pinned. It was totally bogus.

"wasnt even a foul, at the most it was a double foul."

the stupidity was playing his man so close that he ran the risk of such an entanglement and such a dodgy call.

Solid D
01-20-2005, 12:16 AM
Totally disagree that it was stupidity. I don't like softness on D, so I'm sort of partial to what Manu was doing.

T Park
01-20-2005, 12:19 AM
it wasnt stupid, he fronted him.

Thats smart.

The foul was not perfect, but it wasn't even a foul period.

Bull fucking shit.

You can't stop a player on offense from moving and thats what Manu did. It was fucking stupid and almost lost the game for the Spurs. It gave the Clips the lead when they never fucking had it in the second half.

Some of you need to wake the hell up and recognize the mistakes out weigh the espn highlights.

Manu plays great one game and then disappears for 2 or 3. Dude is to inconsistent, is not even close to being a allstar and shit, if the Spurs want to make a dynasty they should package him and someone else not named Duncan or Parker and get something consistent.

How many games has he scored less than ten points?

Manu is the most efficient Spur, i.e. with the touches he is allowed, his ppg is decent, to say the least. It would make me happy if he could cut his TOs a little.

His turnovers come from hot doggedness.

My point exactly.

Thanks.

I can live with his TOs if that's the price I have to pay to see some of his awesome passes.

By the way, very rarely Manu's TOs or hot doggedness cause the Spurs a game.

Damn you are full of crap shorty.
I don't know WTF is wrong with you. I understand you don't like Manu's game and that's fine. But your arguments are so lame I just can't follow.
You post the play by play which is exactly the argument for those who defend Manu and use it to support your statement (which it doesn't). I don't get it.

Manu plays with the same effort, relentlessness and instincts that John Havlicek did with the Celts...except he's more creative. He's an ultimate team player and sees the floor like an artist, not like a normal player. It's not all about him. He makes stuff happen and the majority of the time... it's good for the team. If Manu weren't on this team, they wouldn't be as alert (think about that one).

He's an amazing player. It's interesting how he can have a bad game but usually still come up with some clutch plays that get us back into the game. Hopefully this summer (since he's not playing and the olympics are over) he'll work on some of his game and next year be even better.
