i find it funny. a lot of the Mav fans said after the Kidd trade we need to blow up this team, fire Avery, etc. then when we go on a nice streak and make the playoffs all of a sudden the pride and swagger is back and we are a dangerous team but now that we are down 0-2 some of the Mav fans have turned their back on us.

The Hornets will continue their ownage of us tonight, there is no hope. J-kidd plays like a straight pussy, Josh Howard comes to games stoned, Terry is invisible in this series, Stack is injured, Dirk and Bass are the only ones that can do anything. This is pretty sad, people love to say Harris couldn't guard Cp3 but there is no way Cp3 shoots 64% vs devin.

Indazone

Rafer is very average NBA pt guard. Kidd's decline in the Mav's system shows his age. They are now very similar in that both can't hit the 3 pts shot consistently and both have the ability to make passes but difficulty scoring. You put a guy like Monta Ellis on either the Mavs or the Rockets and then now you're talking the big time.

dirk4mvp
04-25-2008, 01:43 PM
Because I have long said that Kidd=Rafer in ability

Right, because when that time come, Rafer will be a first ballot hall of famer.

I also think it's funny how you can't get off of Kidd's dick long enough to make a post that doesn't have anything with Kidd in it.

Findog

Dirk when healthy is not a bad defender, certainly not as bad as his rep. But the high ankle sprain is clearly affecting his mobility and he's giving up as much to West as he's getting. If either Howard or Dampier shade off their man to protect Dirk, Chandler and Peja are going to go off. Paul has been amazing, but the real story here is West and Peja are dominating Dirk (gets a pass bc of the ankle) and Howard (who doesn't because he's a bong-hitting moron). That's why the Hornets are going to win this series, in probably no more than 5 games. A sweep is a definite possibility.

Findog
04-25-2008, 02:53 PM
The Mavs were really lucky to retool on the fly when Nash left and got better. Because of their cap situation, they can't really do anything with the roster except through trades, and they have a bunch of bad contracts that other teams are not going to want. If we want to get back useful players, they'll be useful players attached to bad contracts.

This team clearly needs a dramatically different direction to go in, and getting Jason Kidd was not nearly enough. So I look at going to tonight's game like saying goodbye to a team that has provided me with some good memories, and good fucking riddance to Avery and Josh.

Going into the series, I knew we weren't going to win the Paul/Kidd matchup. Under ordinary circumstances we'd win the West/Dirk matchup but he can't guard him on one leg. So I was hoping for a draw there.

But what is absolutely dumbfounding is that Josh is losing his matchup with Peja so badly. That's inexcusable. As you said, his dropoff in defensive intensity has really hurt the team, but that's what happens when you quit on your team like a bitch.

Peja is a very underrated player. It's not that big of a surprise and Howard has trouble against catch and shoot players.

Please, outside of CP3 no one drives on that team. The only other semi threat is Bonzi, yet D.George matches up very well with him. And tonight Dallas did a good job of keeping Paul out of the lane. And Dirk was driving like crazy.

Taking Kidd off Paul was actually genius. Paul was supposed to torch anybody who was on him, so instead of having Terry be slow to close out on the 3 point shooter, he's got Kidd doing that job, and Kidd cut off a ton of passing lanes. Kidd proved tonight that he's the smartest guy on the court every time he's out there.

Absolutely deserving of a Flagrant One and that is it. No way do they upgrade it. Then again, Fuehrer Stern is the one calling the shots, so you never know.

Any minute now Aggie Hoopsfag will come on here talking about how Dampier should be banned from the league and charged with attempted murder. That alone should tell you it was only a F1.

Yeah, Terry did as well on Paul as you could possibly ask for. The rotations were a lot better too, they definitely defended the p'n'r better and were able to funnel Paul to spots he didn't want to go, while also sealing off Chandler's rolls to the basket. Of course, he was in foul trouble and the Hornets didn't shoot well, so it's hard to tell in person in Section 322 how much of that is Dallas defending well and the Hornets just sucking.

Nice win for us tonight, but the Hornets are still firmly in control of this series. That won't change until they surrender HCA, and I have yet to see evidence that we can win a tight road game in the playoffs. That's pretty much where this thing is at right now.

As much as I liked what I saw from DAL tonight I still think NOH takes the series. They will make adjustments and probably steal the next game and then close out at home.

I hope you're wrong but that's been my gut reaction after the way Paul absolutely raped us in New Orleans. Although...

the Hornets haven't won in Dallas since 1998. If they don't do it Sunday, then this thing is going seven.

Yeah, but Hornets still have a vice-grip on this series. Still an uphill climb.

Not implying anything good on the Mavs part, I still say we lose this series in 6. Just pointing out that the little bitch can dish it out but can't take it.

I just saw that Dampier foul on Sportscenter. No fucking way that's an F2. Fix is in if he gets suspended.

I was just surprised that it took until the end of the game for someone to give CP a flagrant foul. I expected him to get knocked down in the first couple of minutes.

Please, outside of CP3 no one drives on that team. The only other semi threat is Bonzi, yet D.George matches up very well with him. And tonight Dallas did a good job of keeping Paul out of the lane. And Dirk was driving like crazy.

Plus Dallas was getting tons of calls in NO as well. The hornets don't have any slashers.

Yeah.

Dallas is full of post players and guys that take it to the rack.

GTFO of here.

NO was getting a ton of calls? Lol.

I actually WANT the Mavs to win but seriously, stfu you blind dumbfuck.

Needing a W to stay alive, Mavs got a gutsy, decisive, convincing win. Congrats.

I look forward to 2-2, 6 games, push it to 7. Spurs start resting Sunday evening.

Congrats to the Mavs tonight they did a good job.

Kidd is the only reason they didn't win by 30 though. He's too slow and over the hill to keep up nowadays and allow the mavs to win by much superior margins lololrofl

he won't be suspended if Haywood didn't get suspended for what he did to Lebron no way Dampier is going to be!!!:toast

That's what I'm thinking. LeBron is the league's Golden Child, you're not allowed to look at him usually, and Haywood knocked him down after he had left his feet and up in the air. I guess Dampier technically did not "make a play on the ball," but he WAS trying to protect his basket by cutting off Paul's angle for the layup. That's barely an F1.

Did the mavs really deserve 38 free throws and the Hornets only 13 ? I had a feeling dallas would get a lot of free throws playing at home even though they are a jump-shooting team.

mav fans will say they were more aggressive and deserved the calls, but when the Spurs do the same thing to them, they think they got cheated.

They were aggressive and actually attacked the basket, while the Hornets settled for jumpers. Dallas was also at home. Nothing more amiss than that. The big disparity came in the 3rd quarter, when Dallas got into the bonus with about 8 minutes left in the quarter and kept driving to the basket.

Also, Dallas has shot the same number in the two games in NO. This isn't anything new.

Chris Paul shouldn't be jumping into people trying to draw a foul down ten with 20 seconds to go in the game. Damp didn't do anything wrong in my opinion. I'd have shoved the little fucker too in order to make sure he couldn't get a chance at a three point play.

We all knew Paul was a sore loser. See USA against Greece.

Or Wake Forest vs NC State and Julius Hodge. I hope we can come back and win this series just to mock him, kinda like how Josh Howard did that gay three fingers thing at the Houston bench during the Game 7 blowout 3 years ago.

When Houston was killing it early in that series, their scrubs would do this gay 3 fingers gesture anytime they hit a 3-ball, Bobby Sura, Jon Barry, etc. So Josh did it right back at them in Game 7 when we were beating them to death.
