Awesome Slayermin... keep them coming...

Were any of these plays a top sportscenter nominee?? Of course the Parker game winner was better considering the impact... but man, this kid is creative.

I just now realized that Manu tripped on his way back while trying to look all "cool" after the shot went in.

His 0-6 for 3G's and his generally bad shooting (30%), Manu kept himself in the game, taking the ball to the hoop with great courage, drawing the fouls, and managed 13 pts anyway, including 7/7 FTs, and above all, 4/4 FTs in crunch time, and the W-sealing defensive RB.

Tony's fantastically agressive killer game and guts kept the bad-shooting, bad-rebounding Spurs in the game, but the W was equally due to Manu in crunch time. The backcourt showed up when the frontcourt disappeared. Other front court helpers were Bruce with 7 RBs on a cold-shooting night, and Brent with great stat line for his backup minutes.

A lucky win, but also a great win, in an ugly offensive game for both teams, just the kind of TEST the off-night Spurs needed to pass, for a change.

It was a nominee but it didn't crack the top 10 plays.

Manu had a tender, bandaged leg from driving into Yao. A lot of other players, inlcuding a lot of ballas, so hurt would have timidly settled for jump shots last night. But Manu's outside shots weren't falling, so Manu was in there driving, fighting for rebounds, hustling. Did you see his head whipped back by an elbow? But Manu is a fighter, takes a lickin and keeps coming back for more, and then closes out the win. That's courage.

That's courage

Id say defending your country overseas is courage.

Playing basketball is just that.

Shit, courage as military/battle courage only is an extremely narrow definition, but that's your choice.

M-W Unabridged, courage:

4: mental or moral strength enabling one to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty firmly and resolutely

5 : confidence that encourages and sustains

Manu, being injured, risks more injury by driving and rebounding. I can't believe you guys are quibbling with the word courage being applied to how Manu plays.

Agree with Mr. Boutons.

Very narrow definition of courage.
