here's the deal. For some reason, I'm unable to get into google.com. I type the url, and the page begins to load like usual, but then it shows the "done" message and a completely blank screen. No "failed to connect" message or anything.

On a similar note, I also have trouble viewing other pages like nba.com and cnn.com. Both those pages load, but they load just the text and no images or anything else. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

At first I thought it might be my internet provider, but I that doesn't seem to be the case since I have two computers connected to a wireless router, and the other seems to load just fine. I should point out that the one that works has XP operating system and the computer with which I'm having trouble is a laptop with Vista Home. I use Firefox on both.

Could this be a virus? or a settings thing? The funny thing is there are times when the laptop works just fine... but then the damn problems arises again and I'm left virtually crippled without being able to access google. Which really makes my realize how much I depend on that damn website... pretty sad really.

Do you have the option to connect the computer to the router with a cable? If so does the same thing happens?

I have had some weird problems with Intel's PRO Wireless interfaces.

Don't you hate when the topic starter has no updates?

:lol

Sorry mouse, Slomo. I've been studying all day today, couldn't even go online. Anyway, I just turned on my computer again and the problem isn't there anymore... which is not to say it won't come back. If it does, I'll be sure to try all your suggestions. I'll keep you informed if it happens again.

Thanks for the solidarity though, greatly appreciated! :tu
