Lets get this thing started.

Dolphins are technically on the clock, but its really the Rams who are on the clock.

Does ram management actually NOT screw up and get dorsey?

We shall see.

I think they could go with Chris Long, but should be between Dorsey and Long.

My top picks
1. Dolphins - Jake Long
2. Rams - Chris Long
3. Falcons - Matt Ryan
4. Raiders - Darren Mcfadden
5. Cheifs - Vernon Gohlston

barring no trades occur, but thats what I think it should look like.
This is the draft so anything could happen.

I wouldn't normally trade out of the top five but Atlanta has so many needs. They might as well make a move for at least 2 or 3 other picks.

They had the GM on and he wouldn't say who, then Michael Smith just came on and said it will be Long.

I agree with this right here... Even though I think the Raiders really dont need a RB, but knowing there crazy ass owner, they will pick one.

KC is definitely not taking Gholston.

They'll be trading down more than likely, but no way do I envision them taking Gholston. They'd be more than likely to reach for Clady (or even Albert) at the 5 spot ... or take Dorsey assuming he falls even if it isn't a huge position of need.

Pistons < Spurs

I really HATE this 3:00 Eastern start time for the draft.

At this rate, we'll know the who the first 10 picks will be before the draft even begins. It kills the drama of the event.

Merrill Hoge

Clearly the Titans should trade up for Matt Ryan. Their current QB is probably the worst in the history of the league. If they can't get Ryan, look for the Titans to upgrade at the QB position by signing Ryan Leaf out of retirement.

there's a rumor ....

that the Saints (10) might trade up w/ the Chiefs (5) so they could take Ellis ... but now that Dorsey is available, I think it's even more likely to happen. The deal was to swap picks and the Chiefs would get Pro Bowl OT Jamal Brown and an additional pick (I've heard it's a 3rd ... but doubt it would be that high). As a KC fan I'd love it as we'd get our starting tackle and grab an extra pick...giving us a total of 14.

Shockey is about the only one I could see being traded today.
Bengals already have 1.5 mil into Chad this year, and it's 8 Mill against the cap.
Not going to happen.

Boldin not going anywhere, he's playing the same card as Fitzgerald did to secure more $ down the road

Saints love Dorsey and he would be a good fit. Althought losing Brown would hurt, but he's been on the block for a bit now.

I think this would be big for KC. Althought with Losing Allen, they need a pass rusher, and Gholston would be a better fit than Dorsey. Make sense for them to trade down if they don't want Vernon

.....and so ends Darren McFadden's once promising career.

Being in the zone blocking scheme is the best thing a player like him could have hoped for, one cut and it's off to the races. Being that he grew up a Terrell Davis fan, I have no doubt he's familiar with this type of running.

Besides that, the Raiders were one of the leagues top rushing teams last year in their first year in the ZBS. Now with experience and a threat like McFadden, there's no reason why they shouldn't be more successful running the ball.

No fuckin' kidding! I wanted him to slip to the Cardinals as their complement back to James. Instead the Cardinals select Early Doucett, the 4.6 speedster :rolleyes who's, at best, going to be the third receiver.

It wasn't a position of need, so why take a WR so high? They needed a RB, more DL, OL or DB depth before they needed a third receiver with their 3rd-round pick.

EDIT: I mean, why not Steve Slaten for you RB?

Not enough to warrent trading Boldin before or during the draft. The ups have said they are optimistic they can work on an extension.

I still don't like the use of a third for depth at a position of strength.

I'd have liked to see DE Bruce Davis, OG Jeremy Zuttah or RB Steve Slaten. Any of these picks makes more sense than Doucett, no matter if Doucett turns out to be a good player. Cardinals didn't address a single need in free agency. They can't be wasting picks that should be used on needs for potential stars at positions of strength just because they slipped.

They needed another DE. I'd have loved to see Davis in a hybrid DE position in their 3/4 defense. Kid never stops coming.

Green is probably done. I don't think Walker is really an ideal #1 or #2 back. Chris Brown is probably the main guy right now, and it's not like he's LT or LJ or something. When a team doesn't have that one outstanding back, depth is probably a good idea.

Yeah good point, the thing that pisses me off is that we had Mendenhal on our laps and we passed up, mainly for depth and more picks so im not too disapointed in our draft. We got our ol, cb, and rb. Now its prob either a LB, DE, or even another cb.

They can actually run a string of quality draft picks together. At least on paper.

Anyone know anything about Tim Hightower of Richmond? Cardinals made him their runningback selection in the fifth. They wanted a speed back to complement James' 4-5 yard and down style... someone who can break a 20-yard run every so often. Hightower has good height, weight and strength, but his combine 40 time was 4.599. Doesn't seem very fast to me.

Any info would be appreciated.

Todd Mcshay had him as one of his sleepers. Says the guys runs really angry. Good pass catcher, good blocker. He is a short yardage back that will push piles and always fall forward. ESPN insider also says that he will be a redzone threat in the running and passing game. Honestly, I cant believe they didnt try and move up for Jamaal Charles, or even draft a guy like Steve Slaton. Hightower seems like more of what you already have.

WE got our big guy in the middle now to compliment Okoye.

Exactly. Run stuffing, space-taking tackle clogging up the middle while Amobi and Mario go after the QB.

Thanks... that's what I figured. Charles was my ideal for any non-1st rounder. I also liked Ray Rice, but he went before even Charles.

HAHAH shit my team has 5 rb's right now. Dont know wtf they are thinking. I am happy with Slaton as our 2nd 3rd round pick. I am guessing we are going to have 4 on our chart with Green, Walker, Brown, and now Slaton.

Don't forget about Chris Taylor, who from what is being said, Kubiak is very high on. I think Green will be gone soon. I don't see him being the starter at the beginning of this season.

Wasn't Barber a second-day selection? Fourth or fifth round?

Is pretty amazing to see him fall so far. But, that 4.7 40 just really killed him. He's not a homerun hitter, but he's likely gonna be much better than the average 6th round pick.

Wow I cant believe the Cowboys think Terry Glenns crippled old ass is still good enough to be a #2. I would have been ok with the draft if they had gotten a fucking WR! :depressed

I give the Cardinals draft a C+ ... But I gave them a B+ last season and they ended up cutting their 3rd-round selection before the season even started. Maybe this year will be better?

Draft Winners:

Pittsburgh - these guys got quite a few gems, I'd say 4 or 5 guys who will make multiple Pro Bowls. Limas Sweed is virtually a lock for Rookie Of The Year.

Draft Losers:

Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia, NY Giants, Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Carolina, Atlanta, New Orleans, Seattle, St. Louis, San Francisco, Arizona, New England, NY Jets, Buffalo, Miami, Cleveland, Cincinnatti, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Houston, Oakland, San Diego, Denver, Kansas City - none of these teams really made the best use of their picks.

I liked the Seahawks draft. They added some quality depth to the team and got the best PK in the draft in the 7th round.
