Hi guys,
Well i dont usually post that much but i certainly read this forum very often, same thing with manuginobili.com....As some people may know, Parker is hated by most of manu's fans in his website and yesterday it was a really funny day to read comments on the basketball clinic delivered by the spurs :lol. If you ask me why do people hate tony?..well the answer is pretty obvious i guess, some fans cant stand to see their idols or favourite players being undermined by another player who is not Tim Duncan and is in the same team. I am a huge manu fan. and i have to admit parker is not the point guard i would pay to watch, but i cant deny the guy is good, he is a different pg, he first looks for the basket instead of passing.
Obviously, there is another factor, argentinean manu's fan usually cheer for MANU regardless of how spurs do. I have to admit before 2002 i didnt give a s... about the spurs, i started to cheer for the spurs when manu landed in these lands but after 5 years of supporting this team i have become a spurs fan and i can almost say that i dont care how manu could play in some games as long as the spurs win. I may think this way because ginobili has actually taught me that, he always points out the goal is the best for the team and not for himself, he accepts to go to the bench, he dislikes personal trophies, he doesnt have any problems to give credits to his team mates because he knows the goal is the best for the spurs. I can also imagine he is really happy for tony and what he did yesterday. I would say tony's performance easily overcomes manu's 48 game against phonex in 2005.
Anyways, i am happy to be a spurs fan, i hope the big three lead this team to the champ, btw this series is not finished yet. (Tim best PF i have ever seen :toast)

I thought one of the best scenes of the night was at the end of the game Tony and Manu threw their arms around one another in celebration of one of the most perfect playoff games ever. They knew the had dismantled Phoenix, both mentally and on the scoreboard.
I think there is way too much mad of this Tony vs Manu thing. It's like people are trying to examine something that doesn't even exist.
Fact is, we need them both. They have both at times carried the team. Along with Duncan, where would we be if our Big 3 didn't click.
But hell, go figure fans anyway. Look at how the Suns fans were booing them at the end of the game. Why? They got to witness one of the most perfect playoff games ever played by a team. Just because their team was on the losing end of it, booing them shows how classless fans can be at times. It's not liked they weren't trying. They were just outmanned and outcoached.

Not sure why are you starting a thread to say this but that's ok. There are a lot of manuginobili users that don't hate tony or anything like that, just like yourself. This is a dumb thread, should be locked.
I'm a manuginobili user too. I know what i'm talking about, if you're trying to be nice with spurstalk users try posting some smart toughs instead of sucking their asses.

i get annoyed with the Suns and their fans, but can you honestly say you'd sit there and think "wow what an amazing game!" and clap and salute the Suns if we had been on the losing end of a game like that? I don't know if I would boo, but I wouldn't sit there and revel in the greatness of a team that whipped my teams ass...

It's a shame that most of manu fans don't understand that TP has direct orders from Pop who wants him to be aggressive and take shots. That's the best way anyway that TP is valuable to the team, to attack the rim and get easy baskets.
Moreover, such fans that just care about Manu should just stay at manuginobili.com, we don't need them. They're clearly not Spurs fans, as you say how you were before much of these guys must be happy as long as Manu plays great whether the Spurs win or not!

There are quite a lot of morons in that website, that is true. Don't generalize though. I'm Argentinian and I don't fit that mold you just lumped all Argies into. So please, refer to those idiot bandwagon fans you're talking about in some other manner that describes them specifically. I'm tired of having to defend myself against stupid generalized accusations.

... as instructed by his coach. Yes, he looks for the basket instead of passing when they are trying to exploit a team with his quickness and penetration.
I'm not sure what the point of posting this was?

actually, i find the post very honest. it really shows what some manu's groupies think and brought here sometimes. we all know that if tony plays bad, this BS will come back quickly. unfortunately.
but right now, it's PO time and there's no place for tony vs manu or any bullshit like this. more over, we're playing well, our big 3 is awesome and we're winning games. let's enjoy.
GO SPURS GO.

The point was to show something which i saw as really funny, i am not trying to say all manu's fans hate tony, it is just funny to see how sometimes people counter themselves or get to a poin in which they dont know what to say about something they dislike...In manuginobili.com there a lot of people who like tony as well and those who dont like him they have their right to, of course. I just wanted to remark that if you are a manu's fan as i am, it would be nice to follow his thoughts, team first!!....and if team means, tony scoring 81 and spurs winning, GO FOR IT :toast

Chip Engelland has done wonders for Tony's career. Teams used to dare him to make a jump shot. Now, he drains them on a regular basis.
TP was the best player on the floor last night.

Do you realize the alluded site is about MANU and NOT the Spurs? So while some of the posters, probably many, may also be Spurs' fans, many others may not... and there is nothing wrong with that. So I think it's inherently flawed that you try and find fault in them failing to meet to your expectations of a Spurs' fan, when in any case the mistake is yours for assuming they have to. If it happens on a Spurs message board, then you have a point. But in this case, you don't.
i guess, some fans cant stand to see their idols or favourite players being undermined by another player who is not Tim Duncan and is in the same team.
I would say tony's performance easily overcomes manu's 48 game against phonex in 2005.
So let me get this straight: you are stating Tony's performance is undermining Manu, and approaching their individual performances for the same team as a competition over who trumps who? As in whatever good one does can't happen without reflecting badly on the other? Ironically enough, I'd say yours is the mindset of those you criticize. You, however, ARE supposed to be a Spurs fan... aren't you?

Every player makes mistakes. They aren't machines.
And Tony is going to have a bad game at some point in these playoffs and then people will go back to saying he's a playoff choker. Did you see the comments about Tony during Game 1 of this series (when Parker was seeing double/pounding headache)?
So is tonys dissapearing act starting again this post season?
Parker sucks
Parker is a dumb motherfucker. SCREW U TOO DUCKS .
waiting for parker to actually do something. this is pathetic.
Tony does not even look interested in attacking the paint, he looks fucking lost out there.
Parker is playing like ASS out there big time.

Any true fan would not indulge in any petty "my favorite player is ggreater than this player or that player" sort of comparison. All Spurs have put their individual egos in the closet for the betterment of the team and fans should best do the same. A true Spurs fan should be humble and a team-player.

You're right in that, out of the Spurs' players, when things don't work out individually it's Tony who usually gets the most criticism, often unfairly. However, I'd also like to point out that far too often it tends to be blamed on the Argentinean contingent. And while there may have been a time where there was reason for that, from what I've seen for quite a while (save a few exceptions) most posters from down here don't fit that bill, and most those who do are from elsewhere. So maybe that automatic association is no longer justified. BTW, I'm not quoting you for doing that, but it's the implication of the thread and your post came in handy in making my point.
Oh, and BTW, I got curious and went to Manu's forums to check the game thread (http://manuginobili.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30855). All I found was a few jokes about Eva and grand total of ONE sarcastic comment regarding Tony in 11 pages. On the other hand, the complementary ones were far too many to count. So I'd like to hear from the original poster on the alleged hate towards Tony from last night's game.
