There is nothing wrong with the Suns leaving in their starters. The Spurs did the same thing last game. You want to make sure the Spurs don't get back in it. I would want Pop to do the same thing.
It's not the same... we were only up 16 or so at the beginning of the 4th.

Prolly... he got smashed in the face at least 3 times on drives.

Dumb thread. And no, the refs don't carry any blame. This was a no show by the team and coaching staff. That's it.

Honestly I don't care. That's not something I'm going to complain about. The Spurs deserve all the humiliation, the shame, the blame in the world for how they played this game.

They weren't supposed to play like this today, either.
I know. And I'm disappointed because they had a great chance to close it out and get some rest. But I understand that they make mistakes, too, and a game like this isn't unheard of. I just think it's not worth it to be so worked up. There's nothing we can do but wait till the Spurs goes apeshit on the Suns on Game 5.

Oh, and all the people talking about the Red Sox need to fucking pull their heads out... Look at how fucking rare that is in the history of pro sports. A team as good as the Spurs is not going to lose 4 straight after going up 3-0... just ain't happening.
Blowing a lead in Baseball is night and day compared to B-Ball. Your best pitcher can have one bad start and never get another chance. Offense in Baseball come and goes all the time. So much of what goes on in Basketball is about focus and intensity. In baseball there are times you can be as focused as a ninja and still won't be able to hit the damn ball.

The refs sucked, but they are not to blame.
The poor defense, the bad shot selection, the lack of aggression or pressure, the bad passes and stupid turnovers and inability of the Spurs to fix the problems were to blame for this game.

How fucking dumb are you? Suns can't afford to blow this game, in case you forgot they are down 3-0
How fucking dumb are you? Vaughn, Barry, Bowen, Stoudemire, and Thomas are going to erase a 28 point lead in 12 minutes against the starting five for Phenix?
I used to ignore your ass, but damn today makes me realize why everyone thinks you are such a stupid bitch.

Right. Also, how often does a team sweep occur in the playoffs? The Spurs will take their lumps today and move on (it helps to have a short memory). The Suns got it going today. Can they do this three more times in a row? Nope.

The gregarious way the referees have called this game has an effect on everything in the game. Spurs in 5.
I think you mean "egregious". "Gregarious" means talkative or sociable.
Anyway, refs swing games all the time. There's no way to stop it short of instant replay on every call.

Obviously Spurs are not playing the game within their style. Looks to me this will be a give away game. They are going to wrap up this first round with Suns in San Antonio on Tuesday. There is no way they give up 30 points in a game. Plus they do not have the sense of urgency to finish in game 4. Just like what they did in Utah since nothing to gain. I would give away this game to give my roster a breather. Plus this game will give the bench player opportunity to practice and have the feel of the play-off intensity. Finishing in 4-0 or 4-1 will not make any difference to POP or even 4-2. They are 1 game away to wrap up this round vs Suns still has a long way to go. I would not plan to wrap up early and sit around for the next 5 days wait for the 2nd round opponent. That will lose the play-off momentum for my players. The question will they finish it on Tuesday or will be another practice day for the reserve players?

Yeah its stupid amare played in the 4th and that d'antoni was ejected for being a loser.
I agree the Dantoni is a moron for getting ejected and playing Diaw/Bell/Amare for so long in the 4th. Doesnt change the fact that any other team would get critizied if they had players laughing during a blow out.
As JVG said that Parker's high Jump shot percentage last game was an abberation, so is Raja Bell's. This will not happen again. Spurs in 5.

I'd say today's abberation is him not making ONE, while Bell couldn't miss.
Oh well.

What good does chewing out guys that didn't have their legs and just missed shots?
I don't see the point.
While the Spurs missed some shots they usually make, the SUns did a better job defedning tonight, especially the p&r. Recgonize that. Its not all on the Spurs.

Why even mention the ft numbers when Popovich was playing hack a shaq?
How many intentional foul shots did shaq take? My satellite dish crapped out on me and I missed the game (god was watching over me I guess).

He ejected himself, to try and do the ra ra deal with his team, that he hasnt given up....I mean thats all it is......getting ejected with a 22 pt lead with 2 mins left is not an ejection, its a plan....

I dont think the lakers would either but thats just my opinion. The spurs have been blown out before and they handle it pretty well and usually come back strong their next game.

Diaw sucks, there is reason he isnt a starter, he isnt consistent enough...he will have a typical Diaw game in game 5, 7 pts in 22 minutes.....Raja Bell is a flatout asshole, dikks like that have karma working against them, no way in hell he has the same kind of game...

i think if the spurs come out on all cylinders and getting a lead of any size in the first quarter with the crowd and everything the game will be over soon as the suns wont have any heart to come back. today it was just different from the very beginning.

Tp has never been a great jump shooter. I agree with JVG from that perspective but it would be wrong to suggest that he can't knock down open jumpers. He has had open shots all series long because Nash cheats on the pick and rolls by going towards the basket instead of fighting to guard the jumpshot. I'd like to know tp's jumpshot percentage in this series. Open shots will always be there. Tp just has to take what the defense gives him. He had a rhythm in game 3 and that opened up his entire game. Hope it continues in game 5.
Spurs in 5. :tu

Were Tony, Manu, and Tim doing a routine icedown on bench since the 4th quarter was garbage time? Was there something physically wrong with them?
Just wondering.

The net total (23-8 = 15) is still on the high side if you extrapolate for the entire game. Of course they only shot four free throws in the second half in the garbage time second half.

yeah, I trust they'll play better for the win. They followed one of their best games. with one of their worst games. Poor decisions, turnovers, bad passes, poor defense and bad calls got in their heads.
I think they'll play with more ball movement on Tuesday and go back to Tim.
Plus, the Suns really, really wanted to keep their dignity, as a caliber team.

As mad/disappointed as I am, I just can't see a Duncan led team miss another opportunity. We've seen this from the Spurs before over the years, and we all know their focus and intensity will be much better on Tuesday. I'm hoping that translates into a win for them.

The Spurs should have no worries about closing this series out. The danger in losing this game is that the series is now prolonged to potentially 5-7 games. The longer these series go for a veteran and old team like SAS the more it hurts their chances of being fresh in the later rounds.

Next game, I am sure that Tony will split the defense and be aggressive as in game 3. However, we need everyone to contribute...we can't rely on the big three. We need Barry, Finley, Bruce, Oberto, ....I am really disappointed at the players tonight. You would think that the oldest team in the league and also very experienced would try and do their best to close the series but...lol
Well, I expect everyone to be diving for loose ball and making the most of game 5 and please let's close these suns because I am getting tired and about to start crying of watching Finley and Manu being abused by Diaw.
OK that's our blowout loss for the series. Last year they did the same thing to us in game 2. We took game 3. They will come back focused and ready to close this series out come Tuesday. Book it!

If the Suns win Game 5, then the pressure will begin to shift... but until that time, the Suns have absolutely no room to make a mistake. They'll have to bring their A++ game to San Antonio and beat the Spurs on their home floor. No easy task.

I disagree with Van Gumby when he criticizes the Spurs for laughing on the bench today. First, he compared them to the Pistons. Very big difference there. The Spurs are leading this series 3-1, while Pistons are down 1-2. Laughing when you're losing a series IS unforgiveable.
Second, I think it's important that San Antonio shrugs off this loss and sees it as a fluke. They need to be ultra-focused and serious in Game 5, and I know they will be. But they can't hang their heads after this face-saving effort from the Suns. They can't let it affect their confidence.

Leaving Stoudemire, Bell and Diaw in there with the game in the bag means the Suns really feared a comeback.
D'Asani getting ejected at least allowed him to exit the Suns arena amid cheers since it's the last time he'll be in that place. Better than getting booed, I guess.

So many things went wrong today. It was a laid egg by the entire team.
Not sure why Fin was getting so much hate guarding Diaw because he was torching Udoka and Ginobli as well. Now Pop having Finley guard Stoudamire was a joke.
