BOSTON (Ticker) - The Boston Celtics acquired forward Jumaine Jones on Tuesday, sending guard J.R. Bremer, center Bruno Sundov and a conditional second-round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The 6-8 Jones averaged a career-high 9.8 points per game last season, his fourth in the NBA and second with the Cavaliers. He averaged just over five rebounds per game and shot 35 percent (111-of-314) from 3-point range.

"Jumaine is a great competitor and an excellent athlete," Celtics executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. "He has a tremendous upside and I look forward to seeing him reach his full potential in a Boston Celtics uniform."

Originally a 1999 first-round pick of Atlanta, Jones, 24, immediately was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers. He played two seasons in Philadelphia, helping the 76ers reach the 2001 NBA Finals.

It is a homecoming for Bremer, 22, who hails from Cleveland Heights. He was signed by the Celtics last summer as an undrafted free agent and had a solid rookie season, averaging 8.3 points and 2.6 assists while shooting 35 percent from the arc in 64 games.

"Being able to add another talented young player like J.R. Bremer is exciting for us," Cavs senior vice president Jim Paxson said. "He developed into a real threat on the perimeter last season and he proved he can play both guard positions. We are happy to bring him home to excel in front of his hometown fans."

The 7-2 Sundov is just 23 years old but joins his fourth team. A native of Croatia, he has played for Dallas, Indiana and Boston, averaging just 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in his career.

"Sundov can add solid depth and support to our frontcourt, while adding a future draft pick gives us yet another asset as we go forward," Paxson said.

Ironically, Sundov and Jones are born exactly one year apart on February 10.scoop (http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/gen/wire?messageId=18486113)
