Hancock looks good.
I'd also like to see Pineapple Express. That looks really funny.

I much prefer Smith in dramatic roles with subtle humor than these over-the-top, MIB-type comedic roles. I didn't see anything in the trailer that leads me to believe I'll enjoy this film.
You want funny... go see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. HILARIOUS!

FSM is on my list! I'd like to think the whole Will Smith summer blockbuster bit is tired, but I haven't been disappointed yet. I'll go with this one and see what happens. I was reading on imdb and it sounds like a love triangle between smith, theron and bateman??
WTF?

fuck it. I want to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Hanncock. I love both types.
These are the types of movies where Smith makes the most bang for his buck, imho. He's Mr. 4th of July. I love the MIB INdependence Day style he does.

Did you guys watch the 60 minutes with Will Smith talking about his movie role choices? He and his agent took the history of the most successful movies of all time and figured they would only find scripts that had to do with aliens. That helped him succeed.

Well when it was announced, the script was billed as an action drama

Action drama my ass. This is a farce superhero role. I can completely live with this.
Give me Ali, Pursuit of Happyness and I Am Legand over this stuff.

It looks like it manages to treat weed at least somewhat seriously. I saw Harold and Kumar but Hollywood is desperately in need of a movie that treats weed like what it actually is; normal and not a joke. Though the guy who's supposedly the dealer is worrying me a bit when it comes to this.

possibly. in the grand scheme of this movie, I think, is the weed part is just a add-on. The movie would be kinda normal if it was just a movie about a guy that witnesses a murder. The weed part seems to add comedic value to it.

Yeah, but in a normalizing way. Like Seth Rogan seemed like a real stoner. Y'know blazing in his car on the way to work. I do think the weed is an add on so they could use stoners for comedic effect, but it looks at least like they are going to make said stoners authentic. Certainly a far & welcome cry from a dude named Kumar dreaming about boning a giant bag of schwag or Jim Brewer floating above NYC while high.

Nah, I often like the lowest common denominator. There's just not enough good ones.
