Tim Duncan
Even though the Spurs were able to pull out a victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, Duncan’s struggles continued. He was sub par in the fourth quarter, missing a number of potentially game changing shots. Over his last five games, his numbers have dropped substantially. In that time frame, he’s averaging 17.4 points on 42.5% shooting from the field.

JANUARY: 82.4
SEASON: 86.1

Bruce Bowen
Bowen didn’t have a banner day against the Clippers. He hit only 2-of-6 shots from the field and let Corey Maggette have a decent showing. Maggette had 20 points on 7-for-16 shooting from the field. Bowen is going to have to do a better job on at least one end of the court if he is going to be worth his 34 minutes of playing time. On the positive side, he did finish with seven rebounds and a pair of steals.

SEASON: 85.1

Rasho Nesterovic
Nesterovic followed up one of his best games of the season with a mediocre outing against Los Angeles. He had only two points on 1-for-3 shooting in 22 minutes, while pulling down five rebounds. He also failed to record a blocked shot for the first time in five games. To make matters worse, he also hit the ground hard and bruised his right hip during the course of the game.

JANUARY: 85.2
SEASON: 83.2

Manu Ginobili
After missing the game against the Washington Wizards, Ginobili was back in action Wednesday night. Although his stats didn’t show it, he did a decent job of staying aggressive and making things happen, especially late in the contest. He had 13 points, three assists and two rebounds, while shooting 3-for-10 from the field and 7-for-7 from the line. In his return, Ginobili struggled from beyond the three-point arc – missing all six of his attempts.

JANUARY: 86.4
SEASON: 87.7

Tony Parker
Parker’s making a bid to go to Denver for the NBA All-Star game. He had another good showing against the Clippers, going for 25 points and seven assists. He also shot the ball well, hitting 11-of-18 shots from the floor. For the season, he has his field goal percentage up to 49.9%. Parker is really making a pull to be an All-Star, averaging 20.2 points and 7.6 assists on 54.4% shooting from the field in his last five outings.
GRADE: 94
JANUARY: 87.3
SEASON: 86.6

Brent Barry
Barry had ten points in 25 minutes, logging the most minutes of any bench player. Though he played well, the Spurs need him to look for his shot more. Especially when the defense has collapsed as it did in the fourth quarter, Barry needs to step up and hit a couple jumpers to spread the floor. For the game, he 3-of-7 shots from the floor, 1-of-3 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the charity stripe.
GRADE: 86
JANUARY: 84.8
SEASON: 82.8

Robert Horry
The big news concerning Horry was that he went down with a dislocated knee cap. Luckily, the injury isn’t as serious as it sounds and Horry shouldn’t miss more than one game. His play against the Clippers wasn’t spectacular. He had four points and two rebounds in 15 minutes of play. He was again the first bigman off the bench and probably would have played even more if it wasn’t for his injury.
GRADE: 83
JANUARY: 85.3
SEASON: 85.3

Beno Udrih
Udrih’s jumper wasn’t on, but he did a good job of making up for it in other areas. He had four assists to go along with no turnover in 12 minutes. Overall, Udrih could have played better. He needs to run the team more smoothly when Parker is out and keep them from getting stagnant.
GRADE: 83
JANUARY: 84.5
SEASON: 84.4

Malik Rose
If it wasn’t for Horry getting injured, Rose was headed for another DNP-CD. It’s unclear what Rose did to warrant his spot in Popovich’s doghouse, but it appears that he’ll be there for awhile. Versus Los Angeles, Rose had two points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 11 minutes of action.
GRADE: 83
JANUARY: 80.1
SEASON: 84.2

Tony Massenburg
Massenburg has moved up in the rotation and is now the second bigman off the bench. He gives the Spurs toughness and a physical presence off the bench, but the Spurs need him to be more careful about pickup up cheap fouls. Wednesday, Massenburg had four fouls in only 11 minutes of action.
GRADE: 82
JANUARY: 85.2
SEASON: 84.4

Devin Brown
Brown came off the bench for seven minutes and contributed with a timely three-pointer. Other than that, he didn’t do much other than play solid defense and hustle. With Ginobili back in the lineup, Brown found only limited time on the court even though last game he tied a career-high with 24 points.

Parker is really making a pull to be an All-Star, averaging 20.2 points and 7.6 assists on 54.4% shooting from the field.

Wow.

Tony is arguably as dominant as a good post up player with those stats. He just might make it to Denver.
