T_Park we have had our disagreements about the use of Findawg and Barry, but last nights Gm 5 vs Phx was irrefutable. Ruff amoungst others caught it during the game chat.

Barrys reluctance to shoot was making it like 5 on 4 in Phxs favor. I'm not just talking about when he had the ball. Tony was not even looking for a wide open Barry, its like everyone knew he was strictly going to pass and then go run off and stand.

What was up with that?
I thought Barry learned via Findawg last year that his primary purpose is to hork treys, along with playing team ball otherwise. With both Finley and Barry sucking last night, it really hurt. Is Barry to injured to shoot or what is up, is he back to "having shooters block"?

Hard to shoot when u never get an open shot. All we do lately is parker one on one. No ball movement = no 3s. Did bowen even get a corner 3 all series?

Phx was playing the Spurs straight up for the most part and taking away the outside looks. That was probably their game plan, to limit outside shooting and direct everything towards Shaq.

It was effective at times, but with Ginobli and Parker playing at playoff level they find ways to score anyway.

I think New Orleans is going to pack the lane to stop penetration, which should afford some good kickout opportunites for open threes.

When the defense is doing that you sometimes have to figure that you're going to have to shoot when you're open, even if you aren't wide open.

I'll take tons of Tony with mid-range jumpers.

that of course is also what we'll see from Chris

Exactly. Ala Findawg. Be locked and loaded so once you get the ball you're ready.

For the cow-man lover above, Barry was open quite a few times last night. You might have been in your cow.

WTF? I haven't even said anything in this thread. Way to be an arsehole.

Anyway, I saw Barry pass up a wide open 2 and a wide open 3 in the second half last night, and all I said at the time is that he's gotta shoot when he's wide open, which is the truth. He has a great stroke and has made his last 8/12, so why not let them go???

In other words, go fuck yourself. :flipoff

There wasn't a lot of ball movement, in the last two games.

Players wouldnt make the extra pass. They'd catch and shoot it. Usually Bowen and others have more makes, when they pass up a partly contested shot, to another 3 point shooter. The only time we saw the Spurs incorporate ball movement was in the 2nd half of game 2. When the big three went off in the first half 20 points, and then they distributed a lot more to the role players who had 20 points combined in the 2nd half.

I don't think our predictable offense will do well against Hornets since their players are coached to play defense better, so I hope Barry (and others) will chip in for that series.
