I got booted too. It was a mistake going there. The first couple of Hornets who showed up seemed OK. The rest are trolls worthy of Phoenix and Dallas.

Just for the record... San Antonio isn't a shithole, and people here didn't take in Katrina evacuees because we thought it would entitle us to steal their football team. The NO residents seem to feel free to trash some very good people.

It seems that "a lot" of them will never come here because we are such scum. I hope they stick to that decision.

This is exactly it. Most boards are run much tighter than we are here. Some people don't like how we run things either. It's just personal preference on how the admins like to do things. And unless you pay for membership somewhere, then it's really their right to do whatever they want.

Look people of the city appreciate everything that was done to help us. If somebody said anything bad about your city I will apologize on thier behalf. SA is a great city in a great State.

Some Saints Fans are just really sore about how your mayor and our owner was actually thinking about taking the saints away from us. It will be the same negativity towards OKC fans when the Sonics go there because they really tried to take the hornets. Also Columnist from SA wrote many articles about how we could not support our football team and that we had to move, and put the entire city just in a bad light.

The problem with fans is they got so upset with this that they don't understand that the SA citizens had nothing to do with this, nor did they want to rob a city of a team.

And Yes, on Hornets Report any smack talk can get you banned and any talk about katrina at all will surely get you banned. Most Forums are like this unless there not regulated or like ST is very lax about it. I really like the way things are run here. Theres no reason we can't have alittle fun.

As for the trolls on hornets report, you know all teams have their good fans and their bad fans.

I was on a few Saints boards back then. I got along great with everyone, except when I said something they didn't agree with they'd jump on the "you're just san antonio scum" line (like when I said Bush shouldn't even be a 1st round pick since he's just a third down back/4th receiver/kick returner). I did get banned from one Saints board before I could even post, though.

After that horse shit Hardberger and Benson pulled that shit, Saints fans are entitled to a little resentment. I figure it's valid until Hardberger is gone.

I wanted to steal the Saints. But I guess that make me an ass that NO couldn't fill the football stadium pre-Katrina.

It's sad what happened with the devastation to NO, but the Saints were in legitimate trouble before Katrina. It may have been too soon and done completely undiplomatically, but a year or two later the Saints should have been fair game.

I hope that those who come here from HornetsReport and enjoy the freedoms that we're spoiled with will reconsider thin-skinned policies that embrace quick bans for those who threaten to rock the boat at all. The thing that makes this place absolutely great is the very fact that it isn't just an echo chamber -- the diversity of viewpoints and the freedom of other posters to challenge any of them. And it's not just a diversity of viewpoints of Spurs fans or those who are "respectful" of the Spurs.

I don't have any particular need to go and post on another team's board, but I always find it amusing when fans from other clubs who come here and take advantage of the openness of this forum then go back to their own and cheer on quick bans and exclusion of external viewpoints.

I'm new to the board, I didn't have any problems with the people of SA. But, the statement above is not accurate. The Saints had a nice sellout streak going befor Katrina, attendance was not the problem with the Saints. Benson wants a new stadium, period. It looks as though he will get that in the new lease agreement being work out, although it will be 10 years down the road.

That's not entirely accurate from what I've been told either. From what I heard, the Saints were routinely giving away thousands of tickets to maintain the sellout streak, and were having problems with getting value from the suite sales as well. I think the bigger problem in Benson's eyes were the suite sales not being valued high enough/sold.

At least that's what I was told by a variety of people a few years ago.

Sorry, but if you know Benson like New Olreans knows Benson, he doesn't give anything away. There was a couple of occasions when Entergy would buy tickets to make sure game was sold out before TV deadline, but those tickets would be sold before Kickoff.

*shrug* Like I said, that's what I was told by a member of the Saints organization and a few people from New Orleans. Not sure I believe the ticket giveaway all that much, all though there were a lot of heavy discounts and ticket giveaways for the first and last game here in SA.

I do believe the problems with getting money for the suites though. Suites and club seats are by far more important than actual ticket sales for a team's financial health, so that'd be a pretty big deal.

It's good to see the Hornets getting love from New Orleans though. I always figured they were more likely to move than the Saints were.

Sorry you guys got tossed you have to be squeaky clean over there and its a thousand times different over here.

But yes the Hornets had fans pre-Katrina, when we had Baron Davis and Jamal Mashburn. The franchise struggled because of the 18 win season. The Hornets have fans now too. Of course their are going to be teams that have bandwagon fans. Look at the gotdamn Celtics from paper bags to the the big three and then they are energized. It doesnt matter when the fans came as long as they are there. The Arena will be extremely loud for game 1 rest assure.

The bans for making Katrina statements are justified. Dont say oh thats just bitching and wining if you came in NY and made 9/11 jokes you would get the same thing.

As a student of Meteorology, Wilma was abso-freaking-lutely spectacular. I don't ever wish for that kind of powerful storm to develop, but she definitely put me in awe. I think she completely changed the perception of the type of storms the Atlantic Ocean is capable of generating as well.

Nothing will ever come close to Typhoon Tip (barring a major climate change), but she's probably as close as we'll ever see.

As to ST, I have to say I am ssoooo happy I found this forum back in 2005. It is definitely true that the more I visit other forums, the more I love it.

Many thanks to you all, BTW, and of course special thanks to Timvp and Kori.
