I agree the Hawks have had a nice season but they are not winning in Boston. They also won't be getting 47 freethrows either. That to me is dubious homecooking like that lame foul on Pierce. I still can't imagine why Rondo did not pass to Cassell.

heh-heh, the jinx worked!

Nightmare scenario for Celts fans I would imagine.

The playoffs are a totally different animal than the regular season, as we keep seeing year after year. Will the Celtics join past regular season wonders such as the Mavs and Suns who flame out in the playoffs?

Celtics had 29 more regular season wins than the Hawks, yet the series has gone to seven. Meanwhile, all the other contenders finished the first round with relative ease.

I fully expect the Celtics to finish this off at home, but all talk of domination and historic greatness must now be put to rest.

Posey has been clutch in the road games, I can't figure out why they did not go to him or Cassell to tie the game. Memo to Rivers James Posey hit the game winning shot in Game 6 of the Finals. I am sure he can hit one in the 1st round.

He looked either tired or old out there. I don't know how many rebounds that the C's gave up that a couple years ago KG would keep tipping it until he grabbed it. I haven't watched enough Boston ball to see day in if its old age or what. One thing that's hurting them i think is a lot of times he's trying to run down Smith or trapping Johnson on the perimeter instead of lurking down in the paint.

It is staggering.

It is just so hard to believe.

How does this happen?

I think the Microwave is right. If Boston can't do better than this against the Hawks, then they are in some serious trouble.

And Timvp right on too, Cavs just have to find a way to get one game in Boston.

And LeBron can just dominate on one night in Beantown like he did to Detroit, and Boston is done.

BTW, any team can win one game.
Hawks know that if they have the higher number after 48 minutes, they win the series.

They can taste it. Boston has given them belief.

The Hawks have lost @ Boston by 57 combined points and they have beaten them by 17 combined points in Atlanta. The Hawks have lost @ Boston by 57 combined points and they have beaten them by 17 combined points in Atlanta. I give them credit for hanging tough but is not like the Celtics have been blownout in the road games. I think what you saw tonight was a little bit of Rondo's inexperience in the playoffs. There was no need for him to take that shot with Cassell open.

It is almost certain that the Celtics will win this series. But its just one game, it is no longer a series, just one game and this Hawks team has all the momentum and the believe that they can win. Odds say game seven ends with a win by the Celtics with a blowout but if Im a player on the Hawks team I feel really good about my chances right now.

if he hits them, he should demand the ball more. Doesn't he have a reputation for hiding?

The Celtics have the advantage of the KG matchup. They need to post him and Pierce more to settle thier offense. Thats the best way to slow down running teams. San Antonio with Duncan will throw the ball in the post against the Suns for example. The Hawks will either be forced to double or foul. Either way you force them to inbounds the ball instead of leaking out in the fastbreak.

Well, we'll see about the number of frontrunners in Boston now.

They would have momentum if Game 7 were in Atlanta feeding off thier crowd. You saw from Game 4 to Game 5 how the games turned out.

He probably should but he doesn't. There's a HUGE difference between not being able to and not choosing to. Wally Z loved taking shots like that but clanked them all.

He came right out and knocked down that J after Pierce fouled out and the place was going apeshit. If you want to pin this loss on him, do so in terms of his lazy rebounding and interior roaming defense. That wasn't the KG i knew.

That's all fine in theory but all there guys are leapers with terriffic off-ball shotblocking abilities. It looks bad for them but i could very well see them doing better against the other teams in the playoffs.

You forgot the isolations for Wally Sczerbiack.

I remember when Flip ran those. And it always seemed that Wally was going up against a quicker two guard when he did.

His last one was four years ago against KG and the wolves.

From what I have notice this series is a homecourt series. I can see the calls the Hawks got today be called in the Celtics favor. 47 freethrows wow call it what you will but thats alot.

So the best team in the league can't close out the worst seeded team?

Can't win on the road?

It's about to get wiped out of the 1st round?

Where's the world-class defense?

Regular season means shit. There you have it. Enjoy.

Stop the hype.

The Hawks have made me proud, we will probably lose this series but the fact that they showed this much heart means so much to me. Most teams would just lay down and die but they refused, I love these guys man.

This was a good building block for a young team. Guys stepped up and they really played well as a TEAM. Lose Bibby, get a replacement veteran guard (Calderon!!!) and hopefully Law, in the next year or two can become a 6th man type of guy. And draft a Center. ZaZa is nice. I like his heart, and i think he's pretty underrated. But he's not the answer.

Of course contracts are going to start being an issue....time to re-up Smith and Childress. ZaZa is another one who may or may not get a new deal.

That was a REALLY awesome game! I was cheering for the Hawks and they looked like the veteran team down the stretch. I was very happy for them and I think it's hilarious that the series that was supposed to be the most boring has gone to a game 7! Way to go Celtics - I guess they figured they were the annointed ones this year and forgot they had to actually win the series first!

KG couldn't even post up Joe Johnson at the end there. What a pathetic 4th quarter performance by the celts. If the Hawks keep it close in game 7 then they have a legit shot at winning.

Hate to rain on your parade, but there's no way the Hawks win game 7 in Boston.

If it must, the League will ensure the Celts advance.

Wow...the "mighty" Celtics get taken to a Game 7 by the 8th-seeded Hawks...the only 7-gamer in the first round, too! :lol

Even if the Celtics win Game 7, they will be worn out, and have to face a rested and hungry Cavs team.

Of course, there is also the chance the Celtics could LOSE Game 7...wow, wouldn't that be something...

If Celtics lose, Stern will probably try to get back at the Hawks.

After Celtics lose game 7...

Stern: This just in, after reviewing footage of game 4, we have decided to indeed suspend Zaza Pachulia and Joe Johnson. We are also giving Garnett a 1.2 million dollar bonus for bravely pushing a ref out of the way of the chaos in order to save the ref's life. He's a true hero.

Reporter: Commissioner Stern, why are there tears in your pants at the knee and what's the white stuff around your mouth?

Stern: This press conference is over! C'mon Garnett!

Garnett: Right away, sir.
