Duncan ties Shaq

with the 4-1 dispatching of the Suns, Shaq has lost another claim to fame regaring his legacy fight with Tim Duncan.

It used to be claimed that Shaq had an advantage in their head-to-head playoff meetings.

For their careers in the playoffs in head-to-head competition, Tim and Shaq are now in a stone cold dead heat.

Tim 15 wins
Shaq 15 wins

Tim won 3 series
Shaq won 3 series

Tim's career playoff record is now 95-48

Shaq 122-81

They have two more chances to for each to pass the other. if the Suns are smart they will keep their team together and replace their stupid coach with one that knows how to coach defense. If they are really smart they will assign Kerr as their coach.

as much as i like jordan, and that's a lot (see picture), i'm not worried about duncan passing him - actually, that would be awesome. surely you are not worried? :lol

career W/L record in playoffs

Mike Jordan 119-60 66.48% (13 years)
Tim Duncan 95-48 66.43% (10 years, including '08)

Duncan to tie Jordan

24 wins
12 losses

Tim Duncan could easily have a better career playoff record than Mike Jordan by the end of the '09 playoffs.

Yeah, TD is much more efficient than Shaq.. getting more done in significantly less number of games.. plus he has several more productive years left while Shaq is running on fumes so the gap will only get larger..
