Be careful what you wish for...because you might just get it...

Nobody wished shit on him. He plays a vital part on this team and it is vital that he is consistent and brings a game with him night in and night out.

I would assume, he broke it, as it didn't look to good. So, assuming he is done for the year, what options do the Spurs have at Center? Massenburg? Horry? Malik? Who else is out there? You see, the Spurs are loaded in the front court and weak in the post. None of these fellas can play center without getting exposed.

Pop needs to deal.

Suns, and the fans shouldn't be happy for this win, without Rasho, our defense greatly decreases, mostly because Horry is also injured.

If Rasho is out for an extended time or possibly the year then enter Malone. Yes, Evil!

Second degree sprain, and how does Malone a six nine forward replace a seven foot one center ?

I bet the put Rasho in IR, and activate Sean. TMass can't play significant minutes due his his stupid/klutzy 1 foul/5 minute "production"

we've been very lucky with injuries this year.

I'd imagine that he has some sort of ligament damage the way he screamed. But I hope not.

Time for Sean Marks to put up or shut up now. For everything that Rasho is, he isn't a wimp in regards to pain. I've never seen him hurt other than when he rolled his ankle against the Lakers last year in game six.

But tonight he yelled as he was going down. Not a good sign.

Get well soon.

The Spurs would be bolstering the front court with a tough PF. If Malone did start you move Duncan to center. Not brain surgery there. I'm not a Malone fan at all. In fact I can't stand him. Lets hope for the best for Rasho!!

PM5K
01-21-2005, 11:49 PM
Yeah second degree as Sean said..... I don't know about two weeks, he did scream when he twisted that ankle but at least he put some pressure on it as he walked off, I'm sure the wheelchair was the trainers idea, not his...

whottt
01-21-2005, 11:49 PM
So, assuming he is done for the year, what options do the Spurs have at Center? Massenburg? Horry? Malik?

Actually the best solution is to move Duncan to C and start Malik...Horry will still be the defacto starter even though he is coming off the bench...

Seems like a no-brainer to me...Horry's only played a similar role on 5 NBA Champions, and he played that role as a straight PF on the most recent dynasty.

And I don't want to hear this shit about Duncan not wanting to play C...

#1.He's less likely to get in foul trouble playing C than PF since there are a hell of a lot more AS caliber PF's in the NBA than there are C's.

#2.If Amare can play C, a position he is totally unfit to play, and lead his team to this kind of start, Duncan can damn sure do it. Sometimes you gotta do what's good for the team and Duncan at C makes more sense than anything else.

#3.Observe the final years of Drob's career...sometimes you have to make sacrifices...Duncan going from being the best PF in the NBA to the 1st or 2nd best C is hardly the kind of sacrifice Drob made. He just needs to STFU and do it.

A an orthorpedic specialist can someimes tell by how much play, looseness there in a joint, compared with the other joint, whether the ligament is stretcehed/torn/popped.

I am not a wuss. Rasho is not a good center. What more do you want?

But...................

In today's NBA, there aren't very many good centers anyway....

Now is the chance for MARKS or someone else to take the reins and open Pop's eyes and show what this position needs....

A an orthorpedic specialist can someimes tell by how much play, looseness there in a joint, compared with the other joint, whether the ligament is stretcehed/torn/popped.

Some people need to learn how to pop open a medical book and understand what a 2nd degree sprain is. Look, Rasho did a straight roll of the ankle from the heel down. It's different than what happened to Kobe Bryant because his roll was from the metarsals so ligamental stretching aka sprains would be much more severe. Rasho being 255 lbs and coming down is a lot of force but since it was a straight roll. His healing rate, provided that there are no chip fractures, should result in him being out 3 weeks or so, but he could be back in 2 but in limited minutes.
If you all didn't notice, THIS MEANS YOU SEQU. The Spurs are getting out rebounded and Massenburg is being exposed because he doesn't take up the space that Nesterovic does and he doesn't understand defensive positioning as well as Rasho. Horry being out exacerbates the issue because it allows for PHX's athletecism to push the pace. You can't push the pace if you don't rebound the ball. WITHOUT RASHO, REBOUNDING BECOMES THAT MUCH TOUGHER.

SequSpur
01-22-2005, 12:46 AM
I see the migration is here again.

MIB, Rasho is not a fucking rebounder. So your take that without Rasho the Spurs can't get rebounds is bullshit. If you haven't noticed, Rasho rarely plays in the fourth quarter at all. And against most teams he is absolutely a no show in the rebound column.

You're shits weak, as usual.

This means you.

"Horry being out"

Horry's rebounding has sucked for several weeks now.

"WITHOUT RASHO, REBOUNDING BECOMES THAT MUCH TOUGHER"

As I pointed out in the last couple days, the Spurs team RB diff has slipped from NBA-best +4 to a little over +3, second place.

And that just wasn't Rasho alone.

The HOU and LAC were +10 RBs. SAC was +3 RB in that horrible loss. The Spurs losses correspond pretty well with -RB diff. Early on, PHX was quite a bit up in RBs, (PHX is 28th in RB diff).

Without Rasho, the Spurs team ended the PHX game +3 RBs, with Spurs bench getting 16 RBs! RB is something that Sean can help with. As the Tall Blacks leader in Greece (has Rasho ever been saddled with team leadership?), I thought he was very active in general hustle. He could at least hustle RBs to justify activation and minutes.

I hope the Spurs understand, with or without Rasho, that all of them have to concentrate on following their own shot, and quit spectating shots, and get back to everybody crashing the boards, getting into position, finding a man to block out (aka Basketball Camp 101).

Note the #1 in RB diff now is Pistons, as they start to get some hustle back into their game.
