He's not finishing. I wouldn't say he's regressed but there's not many people he can solidly defend it looks like.

Easy layups under the basket turn into air balls 4 Fab. He's useless sometimes!

it's just you

IMO all spurs squad was terrible accept maybe for Bowen and Thomas, Gino in few ocasions

Hornets gonna destroy us.
Anybody who saw that mavs series can tell that the refs allowe more phisical play and they take adventage of it esp. in the basket area. As we don't have any shooters (sight) they will be terrorizing us all series long and the spurs can say good bye

Agree. Can't really single out Oberto after just one game. Plus Oberto's still adjusting to coming off the bench , I really don't see why he needs to be singled out, since Thomas didn't do much of a job defending West either.
Oberto's too smart to get on his case.

No, it's not just you.

His one redeeming quality is his hustle, but even that doesn't make up for his inability to defend just about anyone.

When you surround your stars with role players, you're going to get some bad matchups. That's why the role players are role players. If they could do everything, they wouldn't be taking peanuts to play limited minutes on your team.

His paranoa of getting blocked due to his 1/2 inch verticle jump lead him to rushing gimmes near the hoop. Did it again last night vs Hornets. With all the attention Duncan gets, Oberto should be able to finish a ton of gimmes like he did vs Cleveland last year.

David West has a certain way of making every defender look terrible.

That's said, based upon how he's played thus far in the playoffs, Oberto's face should be pictured on the "Who's Not" side of the "Who's Hot/Who's Not" ledger.

Just an outside observation, but Oberto is a garbage player and needs to feed of better players. Obviously he does what pop asks or he'd be out. He's always been terrible for the most part.

It's more due to matchups that he looks so bad. In the first round, there wasn't much he can do against a frontline of Shaq and Amare. He's too small to guard Shaq effectively and too slow to guard Amare. In this round against the Hornets, he doesn't have the atheleticim or quickness to guard West, he may have some effect against Chandler as he's not too much of an offensive player, but he may be too small to go against him for rebounds.

Oberto is a better matchup and more useful against a team like the Jazz, Nuggets, etc who don't have much of an inside presence and big players in the middle.
