Well they've been published in an important news website here in Argentina. They're usually reliable.

Plus, what makes those photos so amazing is the contrast in color between the light coming out of the ashes due to the intense heat inside, and the color of the lightnings, which during this time of the year lightning storms are very common in those parts. Would have been quite a sight to have been there and seen this in person

I doubt those pics are fake. All lightning is is basicaly static electricity release and you'd get a ton of that the way the air and ash clouds move and rise because of the enormous heat released. In fact I'm fairly certain lightning is common in eruptions of that size. The mechanics of that ash cloud really aren't any different than the mechanics of a thunderstorm.

Lightning's actually a pretty common thing during volcanic eruptions.
