if the Spurs lose this series which team will you root for? ONLY Spurs fans answer and you have to pick a team.

I can only bring myself to pull for the Spurs, and I'm from Houston. In baseball its the Astros, football the Texans (Bengals and Reds a distant semi-emotional second since I did my undergrad at the University of Cincinnati), and basketball all Spurs. I moved to San Antonio in high school when David Robinson was a rookie and have had the privelege in getting to know him, and he is even a better person that you'd already imagine. I just can't pull for anyone but the Spurs.

Eh Sheed has his moments but yeah, I'd rather KG, Ray Allen, Chris Paul, David West, etc. remain ringless.

I would completely feel that way too if only it wasn't for Rasheed Wallace.

Ditto. Rasheed, for all his talent, is such a head case. Last year his antics were totally unprofessional and frankly quite childish. It was embarrassing to watch. I love Hamilton and Billups's game and their younger players - Maxiell and Stuckey are very good talents that have blended in nicely.

Boston - HELL no with that whiney little Allen on it. I can handle KG to a certain extent even though his mouth runs way too much for my liking.

Either the Cavs or the Jazz.

Cavs - LeBron is exciting to watch but I think his talent is being wasted in Cleveland simply because the FO there hasn't really gone out and gotten that 2nd stud to take the pressure off of LeBron. This guy is a freaking stud but he can't win it all be himself - ie... 2007 Finals - 1 on 5 doesn't work very well - and many a time it seems that's all the Cavs seem to do -watch LeBron do or die. Sad.

Jazz - I have always liked Jerry Sloan. I watched him play for the Bulls and he was always a fierce and tough competitor. Frankly he would be a great Spur and a fan favorite if he played for us today. Their team is similar to ours in that they play a disciplined game using the PF and PG positions as they focal point in their attack. Sound familiar? Many of you may not have liked the days of Stockton and Malone, and who really did since they beat the snot out of us regularly in the playoffs - kinda like what we do to the Suns today - but it was that team that Pop used as a blueprint to mold the Spurs into what we see today.

Of course getting TD in the draft helped a little bit.:lol

Let's see, by process of elimination:

I would root for New Orleans, except Bonzi Wells is on that team and I do not want him to have a ring. Can't root for Boston due to Ray Allen's presence and I don't think I could stand the media ecstasy if KG finally won a title. Cleveland and Orlando, I don't care about and don't think they're legitimate threats anyway. Utah: still holding a grudge from the Stockton/Malone days. Lakers: no. There is no worse option.

Therefore, Detroit.

Honestly I will go for ABH which is anybody but the hornets. I just hate everything about that team. I have never liked Chris Paul it goes all the way back to college see Hodge incident. West is a punk. Peja chronic choker who suddenly goes off against the spurs. Chandler dude with low self esteem under bulls nazi Skiles suddenly transforms into a wannabe thug. And the list goes on and on.

Lakers: I got nothing against them sure if Kobe gets this title people will say he's better then Duncan but I don't care what people have to say. I have always felt Duncan's 4 would be greater then his 4 since Duncan was the man on all 4 title teams. The way they move the ball on offense is pretty entertaining to watch espescially now that it seems they have grasped the triangle. Besides outside of Dfish I really don't hate anybody on that team. I don't let their mentaly retarded fan base get to me when watching their games.

Jazz: I like Deron Williams game and the way he conducts himself on the court. Plus the Jazz when they want can play with intensity on the defense side. Also I like how they don't play selfishly on offense.

Pistons: I have always liked them since '04 so thats an easy one.

Boston: I'm not a fan of them but if it came down to them and the HOrnets I would pull for them. This would only be 1 title for their big 3 and I don't see them ever matching the spurs 4 anyways.

Orlando: I like Dwight's game and I think he's a young dominant bigman on the rise. Plus they have very nice young entertaining team to watch.

Cavs: I love watching Lebron play and just like way the team plays D under coach Brown. I'm always amazed how they can win games with the mediocre talent that is around Lebron.

So there you have it.

I'm gonna have to second that. If, and I mean IF the Spurs lose this series, I would love to see the Pistons knock them off in the finals.

Spurs would re-tool in the off-season, and hopefully get a chance to beat both on their way to the 2009 championship.

I'm with you 100%. I cannot see myself rooting for those arrogant pricks if they do happen to beat us. And I have never liked Chris Paul since his days at Wake Forest because he was always a sneaky/dirty player. Also I do not want to see Boston win either, and quite frankly doubt that they will. KG has always been a choker and I doubt things will change once he plays in a tough series against Detroit, or some team from the West (hopefully us).'
A couple of weeks ago I might have said Cleveland. But LBJ has gotten incredibly cocky since the playoffs started so no to them. LA I would not really have a problem with, just the fact I really can't stand Phil Jackson. (that and my brother hates SA, so by default I must hate his Lakers) Orlando I could see myself rooting for because I like Stan Van Gundy. I think he has rebonded nice with that team after getting screwed over by Riley in Miami.
And Utah. That team is okay. I actually like Jerry Sloan, I think that he is very underrated as a coach, and wouldn't mind seeing him finally win one.
