Or have the hornets found a way too stop Timmy.... I sure hope he breaks out with a 30 and 15 game on Sunday

I really never thought he'd score A LOT this series. The Hornets just have a damn good D, and their #1 goal is to STOP Duncan (Hence the double team EVERY time he gets the ball.)

Of course he is. The greatest PF of all-time is not going to be shut down for a whole series.

The great thing about Duncan is that he is capable of having a "big" game without having big numbers. He is so unselfish and a true team player. It seems in this series that his "big" games will be just that. Since the Hornets are determined to double and sometimes triple team him, it will limit his scoring opportunities, but Duncan seems to be adjusting to it with each game, as well as his teammates. If the Hornets decide they can't afford to double him anymore because our shooters make their shots, then expect a big numbers game from Duncan. If not, he will be content to watch Tony and Manu put up 30+ points and get the win. Like he said after game 1 of the Phoenix series, it doesn't matter if he scores 40 or just 2 as long as they get the win.

BELIEVE!

I think so, especially now that he's over his illness and Tony and Manu are coming off big games. He should find his playoff dominant groove soon.

If by "big" you mean 30 and 20, no. I dont think so. If by "big" you mean being the foundation/anchor for the offense by making key passes out of double teams and setting brick wall screens on pick and rolls, and on defense by rebounding and blocking shots, then yes he'll continue to have big games.

Pretty hard to have a good game when you're doubled and tripled

You're hate for that guy knows no bounds, does it?

We're not even talking about Lebron in here.

He won't have a high scoring game this series unless NO calls off the automatic double team. However, obviously he'll play his ass off and make plays for everybody else. I can definitely see an 18 point, 18 rebound, 5 ast, 4 blk game from him on sunday.

On another note, he hasn't really gone to the bank shot in this series, and I think it would be an effective weapon for him to use to avoid the double teams at times.

Game 4 is Duncan's game....just wait and see.

He'd better have a big game. I don't think you can expect 74 points from TP, Manu and Bowen like they did in game 3 on a regular basis.

Timmy is the ultimate competitor. Sunday's game, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Hornets letting up on the double/triple teaming of Duncan if the Spurs' perimeters continue pouring it on from the outside. Then we'll see Timmy breaking out in terms of stats.

Otherwise, I see his role continuing from the way it was in game 3 -- playing D and passing out of the double teams for the open shots.

I think 30 is too far fetched if he makes those chip shots that hes been missing and knock down his bank shot..... I feel another game that justifies why people call him the greatest pf ever looming

It's hard to imagine that the Hornets have finally foudn a way to make "stop" him. If he really was sick in game 1 and 2, and was starting to feel better in game 3. I think he is due for one big time.

No doubt he'll be better once he completely recovers from that flu simptoms. It really is hard to play at such a high level when you have 103° temperature. 3 days of rest should help him to recover and be 100% ready.

Yes but I will take another 16/13 game if it ends up like Game 3. :)

Not with the way he's being played in this series. Also, his numbers would look a lot better if he'd make the easy chip shots that he's been getting this series.

Mixing in the baseline turnaround away from the double-team ala 2003 would be great too. But I think he's forgotten about that part of his game...:depressed

He's not due for another 5 and 3 outing, that's for damn sure.

According to the reports, even though Pop and Duncan downplayed them, Duncan was damn sick from Saturday until yesterday. He's due to simply be able to play like Duncan. And for the Spurs, that's big.

I'd take 22 points, 15 points, 6 assists and 4 blocks.

Hahah. Not the monster-monster game I was hoping for, but still very, very damn good.

His impact on the game is immeasurable. I know how everyone says that, but just watching the game.. my goodness. He'd get doubled the second he catches the ball, and he passes out to the open shooters, who stepped up tonight and made their shots.

I don't know what's more amazing. TD himself, or how under-appreciated he is by a startling majority.

Yup...Duncan is the heart of the team...he can find the open man if he's doubled...if the Spurs are hitting their shots, they are very hard to beat. Welcome back, Timmy! :toast

Yeah exactly. Lots of credit to the spurs' shooters.. but I also think the hornets played really, really bad closeout d.

Aside from duncan being duncan, and the shooters hitting their shots, there was TP. How about that.. All this CP3 (whom I have a tremendous amount of respect for, never mind that he can be dirty) talk probably motivated him even more..

That, or that dish Eva cooked up must have been poisoned!
