Again, this is for TPark mostly, but I'm almost 100% certain that Dan Crawford will be the crew chief for Game 4 of this series.

That settles it. The NBA wants to rig the Spurs back in this series...?

Two years ago, that news would have made me excited, but not this year. Dan has turned on the Spurs. He used to be the most unbiased....let them play ref out there, but no more. He reffed a few games this year where he was blatantly against the Spurs. The Boston game pops up instantly in my head. He allowed Timmay to be mugged and hacked to death, and ime couldn't breathe on Pierce without a whistle. He also was combative with Timmay and pop in a recent game which was completely out of character for him. Ever since the "Joey" episode, I have noticed the change in him. I guess the Crawfords have to stick together. :lol Hopefully, he will regain his old form and call the games fairly. That's all any good fan could hope for.

See this is all BS because everyone thought the Javie selection would be bad dude to him being favorable t words road teams and he reffed a darn good game the other night.

Crawford is one of the best in the league and will be fine tommarow.

from wikipedia:

"Joe's father, Shag Crawford, was a Major League Baseball umpire in the National League from 1956 to 1975 and his brother, Jerry, is a current major league umpire. Crawford currently resides in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. He is married and has three children."

so no relation to Dan?

some old Lakers troll from a while back. Actually, you remind me a lot of LakerGod...

But yeah I haven't changed my sig in years...LakerGod isn't around (but thank God we have trolls like you to fill the "void") and I've pretty much lost all of my v-bookie money so this sig is REALLY outdated.

Dan Crawford will let things get physical, which usually works in the Spurs favor. But the Spurs have to make sure they are the more physical team. In Game 1 and Game 2, the Hornets were much more physical.

Hopefully Thomas will be allowed to rough up West a bit without every touch being whistled like it has been this series.

If Dan C lets 'em play then this is good news for us. As timvp stated we need to be the physical team today. Anytime we can get the efs to let us use more contact agianst is always a good sign.

Hopefully Thomas will be allowed to rough up West a bit.

A little discrete kick in the nuts would work wonders. *cp3 COUGH*
As long as they don't go pirouetting all over the court for calls again:dramaquee
Maybe Super Hugo will be at work again, and the hornets can actually slip on the court like that :lol

I'm not sure what to expect of Danny Crawford any more. He's still famous around here for his "call your own fouls" statement to the captains before Game 3 of the 2003 West Finals, but I'm not sure that he actually calls games that way anymore. I once agreed with the idea that he was the best official in basketball, but I'm also not sure that's true anymore. He was once a guy who never made a momentum call -- a 50/50 call that hinged on which team had more momentum at the time. Now he seems to do that as well as taking a page from Bavetta's book in making calls (or no-calls) that seem intended to keep games closer than they should be.

I agree with timvp, though, that the onus is on the Spurs to play aggressively and physically in Game 4.

Call your own fouls? wtf? Whats some playground sht right there. What do they pay refs for if they aren't going to do their jobs?

It was a joke. But the look on Michael Finley's face when Crawford said that was indicative of what ended up happening to the Mavs that night.

It was good to see Crawford's crew let the teams play a physical first half last night.

I thought Crawford called a perfect game.

He let the physicality go, but when the Hornets got chippy he reigned em in.

Crawford is good still. Agreed not the best, I still believe that to be Javie.

Game 5 and 6 will be Salvatore and Joey Crawford in some order. I made a thread about it, but there are only 6 crew chiefs at this level: Bavetta, Rush, Javie, D. Crawford, J. Crawford, and Salvatore. We'll see each of the 6 in this series (Game 7 will be the only repeater) and so that means we'll get Joey in one game and Salvatore in the other.

Salvatore would send Chris Paul to the line 20 times.

P.S.

Dan Crawford looked like the same o' Dan Crawford to me. Too bad he can't ref every Spurs game . . .
