Not even close on his jumpers and not even close to his man on defense.

How hard is it to stay on your man Fin? He's not even moving, just spotting up. :pctoss

Here's what I don't get. Forget the fact that Finley's offense is clanking.

He is missing soooooooooo many defensive rotations it's not even funny. Any other player (**cough*Barry, Udoka, etc), Pop would yank them out of the game and be in the ear at a timeout. Finley seems to get a free pass. I just don't get that.

He's not really clanking though. He does get so much leeway on the defensive end though. Pop just loves him.

12 points
5-7
2-4 3PT
3 Rebounds
3 Assists
1 Block
0 TO's
22 min.

LOL AHF needs to get off the roids.

I don't expect Finley to be good defensively at all, not even decent. I just want him to score, it's why we signed him.

Doesn't want to hurt his feelings b/c Finley gets so down on himself he wouldn't even be able to make contact with the rim if Pop treated him like the rest.

That's my take at least.

As long as we can afford to be 4 vs 5 on defense it is cool.

Maybe I should call him out every game. He was sucking donkey balls for the first part of this game, it was the second half when he finally showed a pulse.

It's cause he's clutch.

So what, he's not a great defender.

at least he is always out there giving maximum effort, and he is a legendary long range shooter.

You guys suck. Mike Finley rules.

I always figured the guys were in the locker room reading the message boards at halftime.

finley has been good enough on the offensive side but he's absolutely a liability on the offensive side. he's terrible on defense. hopefully his offense will outweigh it though.

I think some are too quick to jump on Finley when he misses a shot or defensive assignment. He had a nice line tonight or one I'm sure the Spurs will live with.

Finley hasn't played defense in about a month. Pop has basically whored out Finley's defense for the sake of him hitting a couple of jumpers each game.

I get that he's in there for offense, but really, when you're asked to guard either Morris Peterson or Jannero Pargo, and they're spotting up to shoot, not even moving off their spot for an entire offensive set, how freakin' hard is it for Finley to be within two steps of the guy?

I live with Finley providing some contributing offense and semi decent Defense.

I am suprised this thread was ever conceived.

Finely is great all around player.

tonight was a solid night, look at the stats.

Just compare his line with starter Peja. Come on now, cut him some slack.
Plus he has caught fire this year when needed.

He is a more rounded player than Barry also.
Barry is a role player for a dead eye 3 and passing nothing much else.
Finely can create for himself.

It's funny how everyone who doubts him, will worship him when he comes up big this playoff like last year. I still remember his huge 30 point game when everyone else sucked.

Are you retarded? Yea he may not be the best defender but for his age he can still put up big numbers given the opportunity. We might not even have gotten past the Suns if it weren't for Finley's shooting.

Other then Fin can create a shot for himself, I agree with this post.
The guy provides leadership and his experience goes along way. How soon we forget he was cluth versus the suns. Least we forget game one. He has proven over and over in tough situations that he can come through.

This kinda like going after OBerto for not being a better defender or Bowen for not providing enough points. Fin is a role player and knows his role.

This thread needs to end here.
