View Full Version : ANOTHER beat down ...

You guys have really figured us out these past two games. Even though we beat yall down in the first 2 games, I knew the Spurs would bounce back. I will be happy to be back in N.O. Tuesday night so that the refs are no longer on yalls side anymore. It's our turn to get all the calls again!

Duncan is healthy. The Hornets had not experienced that in this series. Things have changed and the refs have nothing to do with it. Neither does location.

another thing the hornets haven't experienced: a pivotal game 5. it doesn't matter where the game is played. the preshuz iz on!

The officiating has been pretty kind to us in this game, but last game was a joke for most of the contest. We were lucky to get a win against those odds.

Now its down to a 3-game series with the pressure all on the Hornets.

And I think you're quickly gonna realize that with a healthy Tim Duncan, the Spurs are a much more different beast on the road.

yeah.

the refs let us get away with that 20-point shot.

that made all the difference.

Guys, don't get ahead of yourselves here, It's still just 2-2 and they have home court.

That being said, I think that Spurs have made their statement that they are still the champions until proven otherwise and aren't going quietly.

man it's clear the spurs have finally figured these guys out. The officiating was ok tonight. I see a lot of scared faces at the hornets bench.

I agree.

Don't expect to be up by 25 at this point in game 5.

Probably 15-17 is more reasonable.

You really think this is all the refs? :lol

Yep, they're screwing you guys when they let Paul get away with throwing bows/fists at Oberto, taking four steps on drives (and getting a foul call on Tony to boot), etc...

Hornets are finally facing a contender. The Mavs? STFU. They were barely above 500 after the trade for Kidd. That Mavs team shouldn't have even been in the playoffs this year. And the first 2 games against the Spurs? No Tim Duncan. Our best player wasn't there.

Your luck has run out. Wish I could say I was sorry...

This game would have been a lot more fun if the Hornets showed up. Here is my breakdown of tonites game:

Good: Tony Parker shaved whatever the hell that shit was growing on his face.

Bad: Everything else.

Trust me guys, this is very typical in ALL NBA playoff series and has been for years. The NBA will do ANYTHING in their power to make every series last as long as possible (6 or 7 games). I am not saying that the NBA favors certain teams, but they do favor helping control the length of each series. Why you ask? Well it's plain and simple ... the more games means the more $$$$ for the NBA, the teams, the television networks, etc. and that is ALL that matters in their eyes. Don't worry guys, Tuesday whenever we are back in N.O. the refs will be back on our side. It's just up to us to play better and we WILL get the calls that the Spurs got tonight. You can't control what the NBA has already planned to do.

obviously you had trouble understanding what I meant. there is no favoritism for teams in the NBA. all I am saying is that the NBA will do whatever it takes to HELP push series to as many games as possible. did you by any chance watch the first 3 quarters of this game? The Hornets were called for fouls ANYTIME they got near a Spurs player. even if we played poorly, its d@$m near impossible to come back whenever you are playing against two teams (Spurs & Refs).

well tonight may have been a bad example, BUT ... anyone who knows basketball could see the favoritism from the refs in the first 3 quarters. Regardless of how well or how poorly a team plays, you cannot come back whenever the refs calls are lop sided.

Bullshit. quit blaming the refs and admit your team got punked.

LOL Hornet's fan your team got bitchslapped and owned all over the AT&T Center. Refs had nothing to do with it.

I still think your team will bounce back and Game 5 should be very competitive.

yeah, but what are you going to do about Parker, a healthy Duncan, an attacking Manu, a Bowen on Peja, and the pressure a young team like the hornets will be feeling against a team with a killer instinct like the Spurs? What about those things?

Oh, and God Bless your sig!

Yeah it'll be tough for the Spurs to win Game 5 on the road. If I had to pick a team to do it, I'd pick them though. They need to come out with the same focus and intensity. I'm expecting West to have a better game, but I'm also expecting Ginobili to have a better game too.

The Spurs just need one perfect game on the road (i.e. PHX Game 3) to win this series. I don't think NOH is mentally tough enough to beat SAS on the road.

Yep, the NO fans were telling us to shut up about Tim being sick but guess what it has been confirmed the man was sick in games 1 and 2. If Paul had a 103 fever and played like shit, the Hornet fans would not be telling us we beat them at 100%. Nobody just shuts down Tim Duncan. When he goes for 5 pts and 3 reb in 40 min something is wrong. Tim is back healthy and we have a lot of momentun right now.

I think you're in trouble if you're depending upon the refs. Who knows? You might end up with a team of officials who don't "do" home crowds, so then where are you at?

And besides, I saw so many fouls (mostly offensive) committed by Paul tonight (shoves and slaps) that the refs let go. Obviously they're giving him a lot of leeway. What happens when the refs review tape and decide that in game 5 they're not going to let that happen?

Games 1 and 2 were obviously fool's gold for you Hornets fans because you were playing against an obviously debilitated Duncan. He wasn't even 100% in game 3. But now he's "back," and unless he gets food poisoning in his New Orleans room service, it's not going to get any easier for the Hornets in game 5.

I hope you savored your first two wins. If you take another game, it will be because the Hornets truly earned it. But good luck to you, and we Spurs fans will be will be cheering on our own...

The Spurs don't need a perfect road game.

Play the same defense, rotate, bang em, and they fold.

Tonight was perfect evidence of that.

That team is full of mental midgets, including their All Star power forward West, dude is on the edge of a mental breakdown hes so wound tight.

Thats almost as unnatural as the Hornets beating the Spurs in a 7 game series.
