6 points 3 boards.

Great effort so far.

Smart move by pop.

Lets you still have an energy big off the bench, and keeps Malik in 6th man mode still.

Fuck! I thought the game was at 10:30 so I missed most of the 1st quarter. I see by the box score that he's 6/6 so he's seems to be feeling it. Were any of them nice dunks?

wow, Spurs are in a groove. Brucie's cold, and Tony needs to score, but the defense is superb.

I see you switched from Parker to Rasho now.

Does anyone else want to argue that Rasho should be the starting Center?

Please.

I may not be as critical about Rasho as you and I have not been pleased with Rasho a lot this year.

But you're making that silly comment based on one half of a game???? Please.

Let's see how he does the 2nd half...hell, lets see how he does overall while Rasho is out.

Just because you hate Rasho....be smart about it.

Cute.

You don't pay attention do you? I've been bashing Rasho for a while now. He has had his chances. It's time to go in a different direction. Massenburg looks like he's ready to put Nesuckovich on the bench for the rest of the season.

The problem with Mass is that he averages no blocks and does not deter anyone from driving to the basket....

T. Massenburg played better then webber in first half

PM5K
01-23-2005, 10:08 PM
Mass would have had zero points if he was being guarded by Timmy....

Kori Ellis
01-23-2005, 10:12 PM
He has 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting. He's doing more than expected.

Now if Tony, Manu and Bruce can knock down some shots; the Spurs can put this game away.

Tony isn't hitting (2-for-6) but at least he has four assists. Bowen isn't hitting, but at least he's outscoring Peja (5 to 4 :) ).

Nesuckavich on the bench fo the REST of the year??

Well, seeing as he was playing his best ball of the year before he got hurt, I doubt it

You love to bash the Spurs players, god it must suck for you seeing as they are doing so good.

Massenburg scored more points in the first half (13) then Rasho has in any game since he had his season-high 16 against the Sixers on Nov. 18th.

Offensively, Rasho is one of the worst performers in the league. He goes against the other team's weaker post defender, is on the floor with three great passers and rarely gets double-teamed and he has scored in double-digits a total of five times this year. And three of those were in a five day stretch.

It's amazing to watch the Spurs with five capable offensive players on the court to start the game.

Only a true hater would be getting excited about an ex-King going off on his old team, after they didn't re-sign him because he was too "old" a few years back.

Anyone can have a good game in the pros when they're playing a revenge game.

how many plays does he have run for him TIMVP??

question

Massenburg had no plays run for him and scored as many points in the game as Rasho has all season.

In case you haven't been watching the Spurs play over the last couple seasons, the Spurs never call plays for the center. In Robinson's final couple seasons, they almost never called a play for him.

Face it, Rasho is a horrible offensive player. He's a good defender, but on offense he's just pitiful.

Admit it.

No, them posting him up was by pure accident.

In Robinson's final couple seasons, they almost never called a play for him.

Wich was BS as well.

Aggie will agree 100% with on that.

Rasho gets ZERO plays run for him.

Admit it.

If he got some plays run for him, he MIGHT score more, weird thought there.

Massenburg had no plays run for him. He just got some good position and the Spurs passed him the ball. He fought for what he got ... something the Spurs BEG for Rasho to do.

If Rasho would ever fight for inside position, they'd pass him the ball too. The problem is he just floats around to avoid contact.

Fact.

T Park
01-23-2005, 11:26 PM
funny, Rasho gets position on the low block and never gets the ball passed to him.

Fine.

Trade Nesterovic.

Whatever.

Kori Ellis
01-23-2005, 11:26 PM
No one is saying trade him. Just that he struggles offensively. It's not a bad thing to say.

timvp
01-23-2005, 11:27 PM
Rasho gets the ball on the low blocks the rare times he gets position. But he doesn't like to ... as evident by how he almost never goes to the line. If he fought down low, he'd get to the line by accident sometimes.

Rasho is still useful in the first three quarters for defensive purposes, but offensively he's horrible. Let's be honest.

T Park
01-23-2005, 11:29 PM
I thought he was brought here for his jump shot.

Guess not.

Whatever, play marks instead. He fights for offense, since thats more important that defense

T Park
01-23-2005, 11:30 PM
[QUOTE]Just that he struggles offensively[QUOTE]

Cause he only gets 3 shots a game.

If they would let him shoot the free throw line jumper more, AMAZINGLY!! HEll SCORE MORE.

But, whatever, Massenburg is the man.

timvp
01-23-2005, 11:31 PM
Who is stopping Rasho from shooting? The only reason he doesn't shoot is because he's timid.

Or he doesn't care.

One of the two.

timvp
01-23-2005, 11:33 PM
Marks played one quarter and had eight shots. The shots are there. Rasho just doesn't shoot them.

Which might be a good thing seeing as he shots only 43% somehow.

T Park
01-23-2005, 11:34 PM
43% somehow

Shot 52% in Minnesota.

He can shoot well. He needs consistent touches.

timvp
01-23-2005, 11:35 PM
Or maybe he need Kevin Garnett yelling at him to perform. I guess if someone isn't constently on him, he fades.

Could that be it?

Aggie Hoopsfan
01-23-2005, 11:36 PM
To be fair, Marks played in garbage time. Rasho plays with Tim, Manu, Parker, and Bowen. He's the fifth option out there.

T Park
01-23-2005, 11:38 PM
Maybe so TIMVP.

Lets trade him and make the entire city of San Antonio happy.

timvp
01-23-2005, 11:39 PM
Then how come Massenburg was able to match Rasho's season-high in his first start? How many starts did Rasho have, 42?

timvp
01-23-2005, 11:39 PM

Hey. If this thread title had been "Rasho cheerleaders unite", I would have skipped it. But since it has a title that I agree with, I'll continue to read.

Since you're the one who is getting her panties in a twist, maybe you're the one who shouldn't be reading it.

If Massenburg can continue to play well as a starter I would consider giving him more minutes off the bench sooner in the game. I think he plays very well out there with the other starters. With the players the Spurs have out there to start, any big man who can get simple dump feeds of drives and dishes can score a few points a game. A few putbacks can be had as well. Rasho is not that type of bigman. He seems to play better with the second unit.

01-24-2005, 10:55 AM
Massenburg will take minutes away from Malik if anyone, there's where the comparison should be made.

He's not a shot blocker and doesn't even alter many shots.

Period.
