View Full Version : Watching this team play is not good for one's sanity

They are SO goddamn inconsistent that it drives me (and some others here from what I'm reading) crazy.

For these entire playoffs we have only put together 2 complete games. Those were game 3 at Pheonix and game 4 against NO. Besides that we've only played one half of Spurs ball in every other game.

Now against PHX, this was enough, because they just weren't that good. However, the Hornets are probably the most talented team in the West outside of the Lakers and playing only one half of Spurs ball just won't get the job done.

I have never seen these Spurs play such inconsistent playoff ball since I began watching them (02-03 season).

What concerns me even more is how inconsistent two of our 3 best players have been. Manu, more than likely due to his injury, has rarely attacked the basket. He's turned into a pullup jump shooter and a spot up 3 point shooter.

Tim's problem is not injury, it's a mixture of a lack of aggression and the dissapearance of his once-legandary touch. He doesn't get bounces very often anymore, many of his jumpshots are flat and die of the rim. Even his bank shots have gone flat. I'm just not liking the mental focus of either of these guys, especially Tim. Very often he takes himself out of the game.

One of these guys is our emotional leader, the other is their leader by example. They need to bring it for EVERY minute these next two games. We already know that Bruce will, but if Tim and Manu play balls out the rest of this series and show up like we know they can, you sure as hell can bet that the rest of our guys will follow.
