Jim Rome has Stern on. he complained about the music, noise and pyrotechnics. Rome asked why he had Crawford officiate the game. Sterns response " If I have an official that i can't put in a series, then I don't have that official."

He's still on, not much on it, Stern didn't really want to address any questions on officials.

Yesterday on the Rome show Barkley predicted the ultimate NBA champion would be the winner of the Lakers/Jazz series.

He's right though, its not fair to other teams if they all aren't officiated by the same refs

Then why let him have his fucking job back?

The guy should be fired after the incident in Game 5.

I think pro sports should have an official who just watches video feed non-stop. This official could double check officials calls, and make calls the officials missed. It would be easier in the NFL, but something similar could happen in the NBA.

It does suck how refs can seem to be swayed for or against teams.

If Spurs were to advance I think it would be fair to say Crawford will not be officiating any Spurs games in the WCF

I don't think you can say that at all.

He's done two games in the playoffs already. The pool of refs shrink as the playoffs go farther, I believe. And I'm guessing Crawford is in the top tier of officials, so it's a good bet SA would see him in the WCF or the Finals.

Thats right. Stern doesn't care anymore. I think he sees it as Joey has paid his price for what happened last year.

True, but he can leave him off the playoff crews all together. If its evident he holds grudges, why put him in.

Sterns response " If I have an official that i can't put in a series, then I don't have that official."

Works for me. Get rid of that bastard.

The league should be sued for putting Crawford in a position where he could determine the outcome of any game that Duncan plays in. That's exactly what would happen in any reputable business/organization.

You know the reffing has hit an all time low when even Pop bitches about it

Just for the record, I heard Jim Rome today on the radio laughing about the Spurs complaining about the refs. He said it was ridiculous. Take it for what it's worth.

Maybe the new orleans guy that started this thread heard it too.

Joey clearly shouldn't have done that, but Pop coughed up a lung yelling about something really meaningless at the beginning of a pivotal road game.

Neither has anything to do with whether or not Joey called the game fairly.

The guy should be fired after the incident in Game 5.

He should have been fired long before that.

He is an atrocious official and for years thought people were paying to see him prance around like a bald elf.

He has been much less obtrusive in the games this season after getting his dick cut off over the summer, but that doesn't change the fact that he is simply a shitty ref and always has been.
