IMO, he had just as big a week as Bruce Bowen did the week he won it.

Wins VS Washington, CLippers, Phoenix, and Sacramento.

He averaged over 20 a game.

POTW LOCK!

I thought they didnt give the award till tommarow.

on top of it, they count this game as the end of the week game.

TPark is correct. The NBA's week goes Monday though Sunday.

Toronto forward Chris Bosh and San Antonio forward Bruce Bowen were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, January 3 through Sunday, January 9.

No one deserves it more, but don't be surprised if it goes to someone like Dirk who also had a huge week or even Odom.

His game in Phoenix, given the magnitude of the game and the nature of the win, might be enough to get him there, but Manu didn't play against Washington and didn't have a great statistical night against the Clippers, and fairly pedestrian numbers against Sacramento. Don't get me wrong -- Manu was humongous in closing the Clippers game, drawing two huge fouls and finding Parker in the corner, and his intangible play at Sacramento was crucial as ever. But these awards are largely statistically based, and with the exception of one game in Phoenix, Manu didn't have a great statistical week -- the award would essentially be recognition for one game.

His 20 ppg average for the week is inflated by the 48. By the way, that 48 was so big that it actually raised Manu's season scoring average by a full point.

Nah.

I felt bad for Sequ last night to be honest.

He was at a function and everyone came down on him unjustly.

When Sequ wants to, he can bring very good basketball takes.

Its too bad he likes to regurgitate the same Rasho Sucks Beno Sucks were doomed talk.

But IMO its an act.

If you sat with him for a game and Rasho was doing well, or Beno, hed be cheering on or as happy as a normal Spurs fan would be.

72% shooting and 69% three-point shooting is nothing to sneeze at.

look at his competition.

Then look at Ginobili's and well talk.

Suns Kings > Bobcats Nuggets.

Tougher compeition, career night vs the second best team in basketball.

An absolute JOKE I tell you.

You want Manu to win it for one game?

Here's a clue: Tracy McGrady didn't win Player of the Week the week he scored 13 in 35 sec.

Here's another clue: find another week where any player against any competition shot 72%/69%, since it's apparently so easy.
