There is a snack establishment at the mall that sells a large soda to mall employees for $. 96.
I almost always get a Dr. Pepper from them in the morning.

Well today, I decided I wanted some water because I felt it would be more beneficial to me than soda.
So I go to the vendor and request that they fill one of the $.96 cups up with tap water for me and I would pay for it.

The associate refused- said company policy prohibits it.

I think that is so retarded. They are only getting $.96 out of me either way and it is not like I requested bottled water at a discount.
And so they ended up losing money, but for what purpose?

I went to another vendor to buy tap water from them. They gave it to me.

I win! :lol

That same bottle costs 1.19 or 1.29, don't know which, where I am.

why buy tap water for a dollar when you can drop like 15-20 more cents and get bottled water

Why buy tap water or more bottled water, when you can reach into a garbage can pick up a 2-litter bottle and clean it up carefully and go home and use your own tap water and your own fridge to cool it. You guys need some money managment skills. tsk tsk

I don't mind tap water, except in certain cities where it taste bad.
It was the principle really.

Why should I get charged 20 cents more when tap water cost them virtually nothing and I am willing to pay the standard mall employee rate for it?
It's not like they were not already making a good profit off of the $.96, because if that were the case they would not have that special.

I would have taken the cup and put water from the tap in the ladies room.

Yea- except depending on the employee, they may or may not sell you a cup.

The manager actually just passed by and so I asked him why the rule.
He said that it is a requirement of the health inspector that they do not sell water from the faucet.
At least that makes sense.
The employees should know that to explain it to great and usually loyal customers such as myself. :)

"Fuck the cup. Put it in my hand for a nickel."

Or I could have come to work prepared with my own bottle of water. Let's not forget the most obvious solution. :)

ok, now THAT makes sense if it's a health department thing to not give customers water from the tap. But yeah, the employee should have SAID that instead of a vague 'it's against policy'.

First vendor is gay, so he didn't budge

Second vendor was not gay and that's why you got free water, cuz that's what I would do if you ask me.

The manager was correct, you cant sell tap water, its against health code.

Yea, I figured that's why they wouldn't sell it to you. The same rule applies at restaurants, etc.

BTW, I despise Tap Water. Prolly cuz I'd be forced to drink Philly tap water which is not the cleanest. :lol

So when restaurants bring you water, where does it come from? I always assumed it was from the tap.
