View Full Version : Any worries Portland?

If I recall the Spurs have led wire to wire for two years against these clowns but I am praying for no let down.

Any one worried?

It is a back to back, Blazers still have some considerable up and down talents (that never seems to mesh longterm) and it on the road.

Still Spurs should win this one by 12 plus.

Anything can happen, but if they are still without Randolph and Rahim they have a three-Rasho rotation up front. If we can keep a lid on their guards everything sould be ok.

The Spurs can still play like crap. Look at the Utah game, they had an 18 game win streak, and they came out as flat as Gwen Stefani. I'm not worried about Portland I'm worried about the Spurs.

Sacramento may have used a Jedi mind trick on the Spurs. :lol They just rolled over when it was clear they weren't coming back and made it too easy. Sometimes the Spurs get thinking they are God's gift to basketball after a game like that and it comes back to bite them.

But I don't think they'll lose tonight. Portland is just too banged up. They'll put up a better fight than the Kings because at least they have pride and aren't a bunch of quivering nancies.

It's 2nd game of back-to-back, as was mentioned by Rummpd, so there is always a chance for a 4th quarter let-down.

The Spurs laid a 34-point MOV @ Portland the last time they met. It was one of their best games up to that point. Ratliff went out early in that game, so they had no inside presence and Barry filled in nicely for Manu, who was nursing a sore neck from the PHX game. It was your basic "Clinic".

The Trailblazers will probably start NVE, Damon, Patterson or Miles, Ratliff and Przybilla. They are not very deep right now and DA hasn't shown much this year - his worst since the 2001-02 season.

Spurs should win by at least 12.

We suck, but at least we showing some effort. We have zero inside game without Zach and Shareef who are out with injuries though. The Spurs should win easily as long as they don't get sloppy.

Spurs might be a little tired after the Suns late Friday followed by this back-to-back.

NVE and mighty mouse have been tearing it up the last few weeks...Spurs just have to stop them from going off and they will be fine...

I hope SA wins big!! Cuz if for some reason the Spurs have a let down or win by a small margin, we are gonna have to deal w/ Grim commin in here talking about how horrible and overrated the Spurs are (despite what we did this past week).

This just seems like a team that the spurs would lose to. That being said, I hope they dont because I won some money on the Suns game, the dude I bet wanted to go double or nothing on the SAC game, and again on this game. I hope we win so I can pull out of the betting (no more double or nothings). "Cmon take the money and run, woo hoo hoo!"

"Beware of letdown...."

It was only last Wed that the Spurs played like crap @SBC, so it's not like they're distantly "over" playing crappy with lottery teams.

I think it was Herr Doktor Pain, aka the Rump Doktor, who said yesterday that my 3-6 road record against top teams should be a much better record of only 3-3 since the 2xHOU and MEM losses are not to "top" teams, so they don't count. :)

HOU and MEM are currently seeded, in our division, and beat us 3x on the road, but they dont count?? GMAFB :)

So, by that logic, a Spurs letdown and loss @POR is ok by Doktor Pain. It 's a loss that won't count. :)

But I wouldn't anyway count a POR loss in my 3-6 record, they aren't a WC playoff team.

So I stick by my 3-6, which won't move again until Monday @SEA.

@ Seattle L 94 - 113
@ Memphis L 90 - 93
@ Dallas W 107 - 89
@ Houston L 80 - 81
@ Orlando L 87 - 93 (low-seed eastern representative)
@ Sacramento L 81 - 86
@ Houston L 67 - 73
@ Phoneix W 128 - 123
@ Sacramento W 103 - 73
=========================

3 -6 on the road against top teams. Opportunities to fix it up:

Mon 31 @ Seattle, payback time. Spurs need some comfort NOW that they can beat this team. 4th game is 30 March.

Then the Eastern leg of the rodeo road trip, a chance to rip a huge hole through the EC seedings:

Wed 9 @ Washington 3rd EC
Sun 13 @ Miami 1st EC

to wrap up Feb with more laying waste to the East:
Mon 28 @ Cleveland 2nd EC

Go Spurs Go

Any worries Portland? Not in Las Vegas. The Spurs are a 9.5 point favorite tonight. You would expect that. But, would you expect them to be favored for the 44th game in a row???? The favorite in every damn game? Never seen that.

"The favorite in every damn game?"

Las Vegas knows something about winning at gambling? I'm shocked.

Just trying to throw in a tidbit like your worthless analysis of road wins.

I hope the Spurs come out with the same intensity as they had against the Kings. They better not be looking ahead to coming home and having two days off.

The favorite in every damn game? Never seen that. They've been favored in every game that there's been a line, and are 27-14-1 against the spread.

That means that in spite of the Spurs' being favored every time out, Vegas is still underrating them a little bit, on average.

Spurs beat their average +/-Diff. as long as they don't resort to the Mosquito Infested Swamp that is "4-Down". :hat

"Mosquito Infested Swamp"

:lol

I don't know where Sean digs up these sayings, but they certainly qualify him as "color" commentator!
