The season was disappointing... and yeah this far has been disappointing.. if it wasn't for the bad stretch we would have home court right now... and we know how important it is.no #1 seed knowing we needed it. no major trades/signings knowing we needed younger talent. only 1 spur allstar, duncan who showed up for one playoff game, then fell off the planet. ginobili had a great year, shined when parker was out, won 6th man (which isn't even fair to the rest of the league since hes really a a starter)

overall spurs really took a step back this season.

Sure the Spurs are down 3-1 to Lakers, it takes 4 games to win a best-of-7 series.
Are we in a bad position? Yep

Depends on what standard by which we're grading them. Since they didn't win a championship this year, then, yes, you can say the season's a failure.

But ... if you judge them in relation to all the other teams fishing right now, then they did pretty well. And if you judge by being able to beat a vastly superior at almost every position Lakers squad, then the season was a minor success, especially when you look at our roster!

But we better get rid of about half the team and bring in better players if we're going to stand a chance of taking the title from L.A. next year!
