Wade buys mom a church after she completes turnaround

Dwyane Wade sat in the first pew Sunday afternoon, looked at his mother, and simply couldn't hide his emotions.

She had made him cry often before. This time, it was different.

"This is tears of joy," he said, beaming. "Tears of joy for my mother
Before she was known as the mother of the Miami Heat superstar and 2006 NBA Finals MVP, Jolinda Wade was known as an inmate, a fugitive, a drug user and drug seller. Her life turned around seven years ago when, after years of urging by her children, she got help and got clean. Along the way, she devoted her life to spreading the word of God, starting her first ministry while doing time in state prison.

Now, that ministry has a new home, called the Temple of Praise.

Jolinda Wade's very own church.

Her son bought it, and her children and her congregation gathered to dedicate it Sunday.

Where to go Wade, You are the Father of the year and the Son of the Year.

You will never see a story like this in the front of a News paper.

"My mother is not the kind of person who will come to me and ask me for this kind of favor. She's so thankful for even the little things I've done for her," Dwyane Wade said. "But it's the dream of every man, every boy, to be able to give their mother everything they want. So that was my dream and this is her dream. To me, that makes this perfect."

The point is he did something positive and special for his mother, but if he was mixed up in some shit it would of been on every front page and all over the News.

But Bull shit sells.

Man Fuck Dwyane whistle, I lost all respect for the clown after the 2006 finals, Mofo was flopping on almost every single play, 97 freethrows in 6 games. I pray to god next time he plays us that Smith or Childress or Marvin posterize this bum. Im so sick of them trying to make it seem like Wade is some gentleman.

Whats next? Standing ovation for players that enrol their kids in school?

Hey its a nice story. Mrs Wade was able to recover and now is living a good healthy life enjoying her time with the family. Thats great but im not sit here and talk about what a great son D Wade just cos he bought her a gift. He is filthy rich and he sure can afford it. Its not as big of a deal as you making out to be

Hey you didn't finish the rest of the story!

While Dwyane is shedding tears of joy, his mother has to hide not only her disappointment but her outrage. As it turns out, Dick Bavetta attended dedicatory services and called a series of questionable fouls on Jolinda. Bavetta, a long-time NBA referee, defended his controversial calls.

"I understand the fans get emotional about this, but the rule books are very clear," Bavetta explained. "Jolinda touched Dwyane's elbow, affecting his ability to attempt his jump shot."

Jolinda Wade was less than understanding about the calls. "How can I affect the shot when the boy doesn't even have a basketball in his hands? When there's no game in progress? When the church can't even afford a lousy, no-good basketball goal for the playground?"

When shown that, indeed, Dwyane had donated an NBA regulation goal to the church, she softened her tone only a little.

"Well, OK, so we have a goal, but he wasn't in the act of shooting. You got to have a ball, folks, you got to--"

At that point she turned to Dwyane who stood there holding a basketball.

"Where did you get that, son?" she demanded.

"Ma, I've been holding it the whole time...and...and...well, I was attempting a shot when you hugged me."

"And what are those men doing there?" she asked, pointing to six church deacons lined up on either side of the free throw lane.

Dwyane explained that they were waiting for him to shoot the 52 free throws awarded by Bavetta's calls, ranging from blocking to slapping to unsportsmanlike conduct and a Flagrant II foul.

Dwyane's last words before his mother struck him on the head with a dedicatory brick were: "I'm sorry, Ma, but you've been ejected from the game. You have to leave, now."
