About equal to the 2006 Game 7 vs Dallas. The Game 7 in the 2005 Finals vs Detroit was the Spurs' biggest game EVER, no contest.

1) Game 7 vs. Pistons
2) Game 7 vs. Hornets
3) Game 7 vs. Mavericks

Game 7 vs. Detroit was in the Finals, and gave the Spurs their third title. They wouldn't even be in the dynasty talk if it wasn't for winning that game. The only thing that could top it at this point might possibly be a Finals Game 7 this year.

In Game 7 vs. Dallas, the Spurs missed a critical chance at the repeat. In fact, if it werent for Manu's foul on dirk, we could very well be working on a Fourpeat right now. I think that was a great chance to make history that the Spurs let pass them up, but it only puts more pressure on the current situation.

THIS Game 7, this whole season, seems to be a mission to make up for the previous title defenses. Spurs realize they squandered a huge oppurtunity against Dallas, and I think everything over the past two years (winning the title last year, and all the work this year) has been to put themselves BACK in this position. To squander it again would be even more heartbreaking.

The time to get this done is now. You don't want to have to work for two more seasons just to get another chance at a repeat. We're lucky to have another chance at it, as it is. Gotta get it NOW.

Ask me tomorrow.

:lol so true

I have to say that it helps, as a fan, that our guys have been here twice before, especially after the 2006 one...you know what to expect from the best of cases to the worst...

I rank this below the 05 Finals and the 06 Mav showdown. Frankly for those, I would have been flat out depressed if the Spurs lost one of those games (and 06 was NOT a good year for me anyway). But I won't be that ticked off this time around if it doesn't happen for the Spurs this time around.

Here's what I'd like to see. A game that's back and forth all evening long. At least 2 overtimes. More clutch shots in crunch time by both teams that outdo what happened in game 1 vs. Phoenix this year.

I'd say this is your biggest game 7 ever. If you want to have a chance to continue your legacy as one of the greatest teams of all time, you need this one. Outside of SA, most NBA fans won't grant you a dynasty claim until you can win two in a row. Hell, they never gave the Lakers a dynasty in the 1980's until we won back-to-back at the end of the decade. If ever there was a season for the Spurs to do it, now is the time. This is the probably the greatest playoff season ever in NBA history and whoever wins it all is going to be remembered for years to come.

That being said, naturally, I am pulling for LA, but I like basketball. If we can't win, you should. No one else deserves it except for the two greatest franchises over the last generation. That's us and you.

As far as who wins tonight, I have said elesewhere I think you have a slight edge. Up to your team to do the rest.

Obviously, it's impossible to be higher than 2005 because that was for all the marbles. I do think it's bigger than 2006 because the future was still bright in 2006 win or lose. Also, the Spurs got poor whistle on the road that year and had horrible matchups, so it was at least understandable to lose that series.

This year is more important. The Spurs are two years older and the future is less certain if they lose.

Get this win.

I would say this is under the 2005 Finals game seven for the obviou reason. Its aboutt he same for me with the 2006 Dallas series.

About equal to the 2006 Game 7 vs Dallas.

not even close. that 2006 game was much bigger because it was against arch-enemies Mavs and because we COULD have come back from 1-3.

this game tonight is a very distant 3rd

In the context of Tim/Pop/Spurs finally getting a repeat, it's awfully damn big.

Go Spurs Go

I know Walton had gimpy knees, but a bad back, too?

Tonight's game is not a big deal. It's going to be a W for the Spurs.

This is above dallas and below detroit game 7.

In all likelihood, this is the spurs last chance to repeat. Like Laker55 said, if the Spurs want to be remembered as a dynasty, and I mean and indisputable dynasty, they need to win a title this year. The Spurs are very fortunate to have a chance to reverse what happened against Dallas 2 years ago and they NEED to take advantage of this golden opportunity.

A win here for SA would put it 2nd to the 05 Finals game, IMO.

A win for NO would be their biggest win ever.
