I'd say 5, if we had HCA. But since we don't and we'd have to take at least 2 on the road for that to happen, I'll say Spurs in 6.

DazedAndConfused
05-20-2008, 01:55 AM
Before the playoffs started I honestly would have said Spurs in 6.

But now that I've seen Odom/Pau/KB playing at such a ridiculously high level I'm not sure if they are going to be stopped by a team that is so limited offensively. Utah put up a good fight but ultimately they weren't strong enough defensively to stop the Lakers. San Antonio is good enough defensively to slow LA down, but can they put enough points on the board? I dunno.

At the same time, Farmar and Turial are digressing a bit.
Wouldn't be surprised if Lakers win or lose.

and Lakers in 6 vs Pistons

LA24
05-20-2008, 03:28 AM
I feel it's going to come down to the fact that Spurs are just too battle tested compared to these Lakers (outside of Kobe and Fisher).

Beating Hornets in NO in a game 7 deserves much props.

Pistons in 6. I really hope they get rid of that a-hole team as soon as possible.

We matchup so well with the Lakers compared to the Hornets. This Lakers team reminds me a lot of the Cavs we swept last year in terms of matchups. Tony is going to pitch a tent in the paint, every game is going to be a layup drill for him. Who do they have that can check him? Certainly not Fisher, and if Farmar is on the court it's like playing 4-5 (he shot 20% from the field the first 2 rounds)

Spurs SWEEP

No sweep for the Spurs...but I'll give you guys the edge to
win the series.

Phil Jackson is pretty good at slowing down Parker. Phil
might let Tony go off a half...or even a game or two...but
he's shown to have the ability to make great adjustments
to Parker's game.

Yeah the Spurs will sweep.

If Kobe retires, Gasol goes back to Spain and Lamar Odom stays home. :)

Great series and the winner will end up winning it all.

Mamba24

Lakers in 6. We are nothing like the Cavs. Kobe is a better all around player than LeBron and the Lakers supporting cast is far better than the Cavaliers. You might even see a repeat of what happened in the New Orleans with San Antonio getting blown out in the first 2 games. The difference between us and the Hornets, we can win on the road in extremely hostile territory.

Great series and the winner will end up winning it all.

If the Spurs win it (which is highly probable), they WILL beat whoever comes
out of the East no doubt about that. I can't say the same for the Lakers. I put this Laker team under Celtics and Spurs. I think we can hang with the Pistons though.

Spurs in 6 or 7. Hopefully in 5.

Pop. Listen up. Starting 5 is worn out and aren't getting any rest before we play tomorrow night. Here is what I would do. Since LA has HCA our goal is to take one there. Play the bench most of the game 1 and give the starters time to recoup. Then go balls to the wall and try to get game 2. Come back here. Get games 3 and 4 and then finish them off in LA.

we have no one to stop odom, kobe will get his, and pau could go either way but i'm betting that with those other two going, he'll have some open shots. they can't stop parker or duncan but maybe ginobili particularly since he's not shooting so hot. toss up, so i figure lakers in 7.
