If they add Rose to Roy, Oden, Aldrige, Fernandez and they have a team that will kill for years to come. And with Allen's deep pockets they should be able to offer contacts to all of them even in the future.

If Memphis gets the No.1 pick, i am going to be the first saying the NBA is rigged. Stern gave Gasol to lakers in exchange for nothing, unless he promised the no. 1 pick.

It's not mathematically possible that Seattle lands outside the top 5 and Minnesota lands outside the top 7. At worst, the Timberwolves will have th 7th pick. At worst, Seattle will have th 5th pick.

I think the league will give it to Memphis so they can promptly trade it to the Lakers for thes rest of the scraps left over after the Gasol trade. I hope Memphis sucks forever for making one of the dumbest moves in NBA history.

ANOTHER combo forward, when they already have Deng, Tyrus Thomas, and Nocioni? Wouldn't Rose make more sense, considering they could really use a point guard who can create for others? Particularly now, that Hinrich is nowhere near the floor general he was supposed to be, and Gordon has turned into an overrated one dimensional 2 guard in PG's body. I don't know... but you'd think eventually they'd HAVE to address their weaknesses... right? Or are they molding themselves after the Hawks?

Pistons < Spurs
05-20-2008, 07:36 PM
To the Knicks? For what?

I initially thought of the Knicks, as Dantoni was supposedly high on taking the Bulls job, and I think Hinrich could do well in that uptempo setting. If they could get get Crawfod ... or even Randolph, I'd do it.

But there's so many teams needing a PG, there's probably better, more realistic options.

And really it doesn't matter what they get in return, as long as they get rid of him and make way for Rose:lol

Beasley >>> all those guys, and has the talent to be a premier scorer. Plus, trading one or two of them would fetch a lot more than they could get by trading Hinrich. Finally, I don't know if you give up on Hinrich after one bad year.

Did anybody else "That means the bulls move into top 3" after the 10th pick? I'm confused by it. so was it prerecorded?
The top 3 picks are determined by a lottery, the rest are from worse to best record amongst non playoff teams. If you are in the lottery and you got the nth worse record, you can either finish in the top 3, or in the n to n + 3 range if the teams with a better record get the first 3 spots. So if by the time the nth pick (10th in this case) was announced the team with the worse record still on the board isn't there (Bulls), then necessarily it means they got a top 3 pick.

ShoogarBear

The lottery is only used to determine the first three picks, after that teams are ranked by record.

The Bulls had the ninth-best chance of winning the #1 pick. Once Charlotte (who had the 8th-best chance) was put into the #9 slot, that automatically meant that Chicago had to be one of the top 3 picks.

What is there to fuck up? Is an easy choice. Bulls take Rose,Heat take Beasly. Bulls take Beasly then the Heat take Rose. Does not get easier then that. I doubt Riley takes OJ Mayo with the 2nd pick.

Besides, when you're drafting #1, you should draft for talent over need. Atlanta fucked up not so much because they didn't take a point guard but because they didn't take Chris Paul. If Beasley is the top talent available, they should take him and figure out what to do with Thomas and Nocioni later.

If you think there is that big a difference in talent, then I understand your point. Most don't think so, however. But I can't really dismiss your take, since I only saw Rose play live (and loved his game), and only highlights of Beasley, so I'd have to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Still, I can't help but to realize that Hinrich is TWENTY SEVEN years old, and he's been in the league for 5 years now. At some point you have to consider the possibility he's simply not that good. And they need a guard much more so than another combo forward.

So if they're going with Beasley, they'd better package some combo forwards and / or Hinrich for a dependable PG, or else they're going nowhere no matter how much talent they stockpile.

Remember it was Paxson that traded the rights to Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas.
Pick which he had previously acquired by trading faint hearted (both metaphorically and literally) Curry to New York, so I don't think you can be that harsh on him. He also raped Phoenix, in the trade that landed them the 7th pick used on Deng by sending them their pick the following year, which turned out to be 20 something (21st I think), which New York subsequently got and used on Nate Robinson. So you can't really be all that hard on Paxson. Overall he's drafted well. The main knock on him should be that he couldn't find a way to land talent, mainly quality inside scorer and a guard, particularly when Gasol and Garnett ended up elsewhere for less than the Bulls could have offered.

Tradition
05-20-2008, 09:03 PM
The Bulls already fucked up their team. Taking Big Ben over Tyson, trying to land a star by not giving up 2-3 players named Gordon,Deng, Kirk. Drafting Noah, drafting Tyrus over Aldridge, etc etc. Paxon has fucked up too many times and the Bulls best bet is to stop being picky. If they want a star it is going to cost them Deng/Gordon(or Kirk) and picks.
