Yeah you are calling like a fucking idiot. Go ahead, write the Spurs off.
Not writing the Spurs off.
Just saying: They will have to be lucky to beat the Lakers in LA.
They are going to lose tonight, and probably lose on Friday.
I guess we can pull what we did against the Hornets, but I don't like the odds on that one.

The fact that we were up 20 in this game means I'm not worried.
The Spurs are visibly tired. The big 3 have been awful in the second half. All the calls have gone to the Lakers in the 4th. We are playing in LA. And the Lakers are JUST going to squeak by.
Get over it.

This loss was a coaching decision. Instead of putting the game away, the idiot goes ahead and starts playing around with the lineup and allows Kobe to heat up... Allows Kobe to cut the lead down to 6 and then brings back Bowen in the fourth. Stupid. Then we also have Finley on Odom at times.

Two crucial blatant cheating calls was Gasol knocking it out of bounds, calling it on the Spurs. Then Kobe lowering his shoulder in Bowen, pushing Bowen out of bounds, no call, Kobe makes the shot. I'm not a Spurs fan, but if the last series was an indicator, one win does not a series make. Two crucial blatant cheating calls was Gasol knocking it out of bounds, calling it on the Spurs. Then Kobe lowering his shoulder in Bowen, pushing Bowen out of bounds, no call, Kobe makes the shot. Nice job refs. We're going to have to make sure these games are never close, again so we negate the striped-shirt influence.
Are you seriously blaming the refs for this? Did he really think he was going to get a call like that on Kobe in LA? That was a stupid ass play by Bowen, and the Spurs choked in general.

I'm not a Spurs fan, but if the last series was an indicator, one win does not a series make. The Hornets hung the Spurs out to dry in the first two games, then it all changed once it got back to to AT&T. So until you're 3-0, then you can gloat a little, but right now. Enjoy a fantastic comeback win.
Ah, I'm just trash-talking, happy the Lakers won a game they should have lost. Spurs played much better than I give them credit for.

The main thing I worry about now is that a loss like this (having the game in hand and choking it away) can have a hangover effect on the Spurs. Just think, the Lakers just showed the Spurs that a TWENTY POINT LEAD is not even remotely safe.
All things considered, though, I gotta put this one on Pop. He had the game won, then started fucking around. I know teams get sloppy with big leads, but damn...the Spurs seem to do that a lot lately...it IS fatigue...that's the only logical explanation.

I'm disappointed because it seemed we had this game - but I'm not worried about the series. I really never expected the Spurs to win tonight because of the fatigue factor; however, they almost pulled it off, even with Manu playing like a stupid idiot and Parker not much better! I think it's the Lakers that should be worried - after all, they barely won this game and the Spurs won't play this crappy again.

The Spurs LOST a game they have WON, plus the refs helped the Lakers in the end...However, make no mistake, the SPURS HAD no business allowing those guys back in the game...We all knew the REFS will give it to them in the end...However, the series hasn't started yet - the Spurs PLAYED much better in Game 1 today, if you compare what they have done against the Hornets...What they need to do is sustain a good play for 4 quarters, NOT for 3...the 4th quarter was the same against the Hornets...still, even though we played like shit in the 4th we had a chance SHOULD THE REFS had given the right call - and OFFENSIVE FOUL on Kobe in a 85-85 game - then it would've been different - the Spurs would've had the ball with 30 sec to go...also the last possession foul wasn't on Sasha, but on Odom, who is NOT good from the FT line...The Spurs gave one away, a game they should have won easily taking into account they were up by 20 pts at some point...
However, nothing we could do now - we have to prepare for Game 2...NO NEED TO WORRY - THERE IS NOW WAY THE LAKERS WOULD WIN A GAME IN SA...so what we need is to re-group and repeat what we did today, but JUST PLAY 4th quarters...that's ALL...

Manu will not have a great game all series if Sasha is guarding him. He is forcing Ginobli to go RIGHT on every play and it is clearly screwing with his game. I said before this series all Ginobli was doing was hitting 3's, his drives were all useless. I was 100% correct. Ginobli is hurt and it is affecting his ability to get to the rim and score.

I've yet to see Manu play a great game since the NOH series. He's shot from 3pt land well a few times, but THAT'S IT. His ankle injury is clearly limiting his ability to drive to the hoop and finish. We aren't seeing the typical body contorting moves that Ginobli is famous for because he doesn't want to re-injure himself.
Sasha is playing Ginobli the right way. Hounding him on every play, forcing him to go right every time, and getting in his grill when he shoots. If he can keep this up we may not even need Ariza's D in this series.

If fatigue was a problem in Game 1 it will continue to be a problem all series long. The Spurs will get the exact same amount of rest between games that they got before the start of this series.
So keep blaming fatigue if you want, but it's not something that's going to go away as this series progresses.

This is maybe the worst year for the Spurs defending their title. They played against ShaQ/Phoenix in the 1st round, one of the competitive teams in the West, then in the next rounds they no homecourt advantage. And we know how good Detroit are in their arena.
