You're right.
I think Kobe would guard Manu and Fisher would guard TP.

maybe kobe should stick his foot under the jump shooters so they get hurt and don't need to worry about them the rest of the game.

Lakers will end up with a small lineup that they will play all the time:
Fisher
Vujachick/Farmar
Kobe
Odom
Gasol
Kobe will have to guard Manu. Farmar and Vujachick gonna have to keep up with parker.
there is no way in hell Kobe can keep up with Parker. no way in hell Fisher can keep up with Parker or Manu
so as I said before, it's all gonna be a wash. The deciding factor will be Duncan. and the defense on Gasol from Oberto/Thomas

Kobe on Tony
Gasol on Tim
Fisher on Manu?
Odom on Oberto?
Radmonovic on Bowen?

It's not about Kobe being able to stop Tony Parker. It's about Kobe being an option if Tony Parker is abusing Fisher and/or Farmar, which likely will happen. It's like saying anyone can guard Kobe. No, Kobe can't stop Parker, but he's an alternative and he could possibly do a better job than Fisher and Farmar.

Parker will see a lot of looks.
But as the OP stated...Spurs in 4.

Farmar doesn't belong on an NBA court, much less on the hardwood in the WCF. What did he shoot the first two rounds, something like 25% from the field? Anytime Farmar is on the court, the Spurs are defending 5 on 4.

Yeah but I don't think Parker can guard him Kobe either

Where was Manu? The Spurs without Manu counts for an asterisk.

Ariza spent some time as a starter before he broke his foot. I figure he'll get some signifcant minutes on Parker and Manu if Farmar gets abused.
Farmar sucked the first 2 rounds but he's gotta come out of his shooting slump sooner or later. I'm hoping for sooner.

yeah, that's the solution to Lakers problems. Play a guy in the WCF that has not had too much play time since breaking his foot.
real bright move right there :rollin

I think he'll play a fair amount of time on Manu. I don't think he'll play Parker that much. I think Fisher will be stuck with that task for the most part.

You obviously underestimate the speed and quickness of Ariza. His offense might be off coming back from injury but defense is always with you. He's 6'8 with the speed of a 6'2 guy and quick hands on defense...possibly the 2nd best defensive player on the Lakers after Kobe.
I think he'll play a fair amount of time on Manu. I don't think he'll play Parker that much. I think Fisher will be stuck with that task for the most part.
I think so too, Ariza's quick and long but certainly not a speeding bullet like Tony. However, his length might give Tony some difficulty. But overall, I think he'll be used often to keep Manu in check.
