They talked about Charles gambling bet, but also about the Spurs vs Lakers. Charles doesnt think the Spurs have a chance against the Lakers. He said the big 3 have to all have a huge game every time in order for them to win......he doesnt think that can happen. He said Kobe is now a Jordan level and he will carry them to the championship. He also said when Bynum comes back the Lakers will be untouchable by any team for the next 5 years. :rolleyes

Bynum has not proven he is healthy and he can play with gasol
there is also only one ball
Bynum,gasol ,kobe and odom
are they going to be happy letting each one have some shots
then they are the upcoming bench players that want touches

Well, the Lakers have the best off guard in the League in his prime, stole a star big man from Memphis and have one of the most promising young centers in the game.
Sir Charles calls 'em like he sees 'em.

IIRC he also said the Suns and then the Hornets would be our undoing. So far, Sir Charles is batting 1000. Wrong every time.

He made the point last night. Even if Ginobli, Parker and Duncan all go off, that isn't enough points to beat the Lakers. The Lakers bench is younger, longer, and more athletic and showed a hint of it in Game 1 getting offensive boards, steals, and easy buckets in transition.
The Spurs were up 8 when the Laker bench came in and tied it. The Spurs then went back up 8 when the starters came in.
If the Spurs can't get big points from their bench, this one is over in 5.

we shot 25% from 3pt. that's why we lost.
we are averaging 40% in the playoffs.
even if we had shot 30% we still would have won.
and BTW, before you say it's laker's defense, it's wide open shots we missed.

And if the Lakers got playoff averages from Odom (who was missing layups) and Fisher (who was missing wide open shots), its a double digit Laker victory.
Don't get it in your head that this was the best the Lakers could play. They mailed in the first 32 minutes of the game and still won.

Isn't this the same Barkley who said a few weeks ago that he didn't think the Lakers could win a championship w/o Bynum??? :rolleyes

and if Manu, our 2nd best player had not played his worst playoff game of his life, we would have won.
don't get it in your head this was the best the Spurs could play. Manu is the heart of the team.
shit you should be worried your lakers did not blow the Spurs out with Manu playing like that. The Atlanta Hawks would have blown us out with Manu playing like that.

I hate that sonofabitch Barkley, but he is probably right about everything printed above.
The only saving grace is that Bynum who has had another surgery may never make it back to any high level of competition. He might because he is young but honestly, his problem was much worse than ever imagined 9 months ago.
If he comes back at 90% of max then he will be good. But i doubt it will be any more than that. But that could be enough to take the LakeShow to the Finals until Kobe retires?

LOL........so if you shoot 30% from behind the arc you win? Uh, how about if Fisher & Odom don't have their worst games of the entire season on the same exact night? Then who wins? Spurs fans are funny.

He is wrong after the Spurs window closes, Portland and New Orleans will be running the show. In my opinion.

Barkley is spot on about Bynum.
The kid is going to make a full recovery, and having his knee scoped is something that happens to a large portion of NBA athletes (Kobe did this twice). Bynum has so much potential to grow from where he is at, even if he gives what he was before the injury that is enough to keep LAL as a dominant team for the next 5 years. You guys downplaying Bynum have absolutely no idea what kind of force he was becoming.

Sasha can't hold Manu's jock. The only reason he can even stay in front of Manu right now is because Manu is hurt. He's been hobbled by an ankle injury since the start of the playoffs. This is why he's not driving the lane and mostly shooting threes.
Manu won 6th man this year and was playing on an entirely different level all year. Sasha isn't even 3rd team defense. Buy a clue.
