San Antonio is in a small market with probably the lowest net worth of any owner/ownership group in professional sports. Plus, we've been able to hold on to a core of players that have agreed to take less money for the good of the team. They understand that stats are superficial and at the end of the day success is measured by rings. Name another NBA team - no, name another professional team that has that dynamic. As a person that doesn't make millions of dollars a year to play a sport, I can't think of any other team I'd rather root for. By the way, watch any NBA game and you'll see almost every player complain about a call. Timmy gets a bad rap because he usually shows no other emotion than when questioning a call. Unfortunately, that has become a necessity of the game. If you feel comfortable rooting for a team that traded away a dominant player because their "star" player didn't like sharing the limelight, that's your choice. Also, don't dismiss the fact that Kobe was suspected of rape, he wanted to be traded at the beginning of the year and he has more talent than MJ but has less charisma than MJ had in his pinky. Quesiton is - why do you root for the Lakers?
